Baby Food Apple Puree Recipe (4+ months)

Fall is one of the great seasons for freezing apples for your baby. They are great as a fruit staple or mixed with other fruits as your child gets older. Remember, when properly stored they can last several months, so feel free to make ahead.
Yield:
28 oz / 56T / 28 cubes
Ingredients:
- 3 pound bag of Gala apples, cored and peeled
Directions:
- Place apples in a stock pot and add water, just enough to cover.
- Bring to boil for 5 minutes or until apples are soft when forked. Remove from heat and drain.
- Puree in food processor and add water in 2T increments until desired consistency.

is it possible to sub jonathan apples for gala?

Does the above make the baby constipate. I read that applesauce constipates…Is above like applesauce?
