Back-To-School Giveaway Bonanza: Cisco Valet

Okay, let me just start by saying I know NOTHING of wireless routers. That is what I got married for! Well, not really, but he is a technology guru so I don’t have to know anything about wireless routers.
However, I took to educating myself on the Cisco Valet website to learn what it is that I didn’t already know. And features that appeal to me as “unknowing” mom. Here are the features that stood out to me:
- Easy to set up and to use
- No crazy passwords or key codes to remember, when guests come they get a key to plug into their USB port, you don’t have to worry about giving out your network password.
- Parental controls where you can set different computers to have different levels of security. If there is more than one computer in the family mom and dads computer can be set with less security than young children, etc.
- Secure use so that your nosy mooching neighbors aren’t stealing your internet signal.
Again, I am not the technology expert but I can say this. A wireless router is a MUST have if you have more than one computer in house. And since you are going to be winning the Dell Inspirion R laptop, you are going to need one of these!

We could really use a new, good router! We’ve gone through a couple within the last few of months, and we just can’t seem to find one that’s reliable and fits our needs. I do 98% of my college classes online, so I really need a dependable internet connection! (especially when I’m doing my finals online…) I also like the feature that I can block sites from my kids.

Printing wirelessly = AWESOME! Right now, I work from a lap top & the only printer in the house is connected to an old SLOW desk top. It’s painful! I’d love the wireless printing feature.
