Thanks for this post. I feel the same way, that we need time of rest as a family. I am a Christian, but my husband is not a believer. We have had a weekend trip scheduled for several months, and I was considering canceling for financial reasons. But I was really surprised that my husband wanted me to keep our plans. So we are looking forward to a time away from our farm, work, our tenants, etc. I do struggle with making time in my day for minutes with God. I have started reading one chapter a night, but I have also put devo books in my kitchen by the coffee maker, the bathroom, and my desk at work. Now if I could just get a routine going USING them, I would be set! Good luck in your daily walk and thanks for all you do.

Thank you for sharing your heart!
It's so refreshing to read. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that feels like you do. We rarely rest and praise God. It is all about us and our busy lives and everything in it.
I am a big fan of your site. You are real and it shows through your words. Thank you for taking the time to let us readers know your cooking strategies and your heart.

Thank you for sharing your story. I was genuinely touched and am glad that the site is helping more than just feed your family. I have been truly blessed this week by reader responses and comments. I love the fact that you and your husband are doing this together. Thank you again for sharing. God Bless.

I just want to thank you for sharing this. I am sure you have gotten many responses and can see you are very busy on here but I really felt I should respond. I am new to this site and am really enjoying it. It has brought my husband and I together in a way that has been wonderful, we are doing it on a much smaller scale, cooking every other Sunday just making a few things up to have on hand and hoping to build it into more but the best part is he is helping me do it and there is nothing I love more than being in the kitchen with him. I had no idea that you and I shared a faith and are sisters in Christ and it just makes it that much more amazing. I think I to will begin to discipline myself to start my day with the Bible instead of Facebook. Thank you again for sharing.
In Christ,
Erin.
