Are you a person that likes to see the menus visually? Perhaps you should check out the February 2013 Diet Menu via Pinterest to see the yummy goodness you will be cooking up on this menu. Not sure what Pinterest is all about, check out what Once A Month Mom has to say about it.
- This menu will be pinned some time before the end of the day on the 2nd.
Test Cooks
Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:
- Amy Haines: My name is Amy Haines and I have been happily married to my best friend, Wade, for almost eight years now. We seem to be starting a small zoo at home with our three cats (Sasha, Zara and Sirius Black), two cockatiels (Buster and Sweetie), parrot (Louie), and three aquariums. I enjoy reading, cooking, baking goodies from scratch and crocheting.
- Meghan Barry: Meaghan Barry lives with her husband and toddler son in a town on the south shore of Boston. She is a former finance professional turned stay-at-home-mom and tweets under Twitter profile @Meaghz and pins using the Pinterest profile 2Sisters2Cities. Meaghan blogs with her NYC-based sister about cooking, party ideas, and projects at http://www.2sisters2cities.com.
Get Started
Are you new to Once A Month Mom or once a month cooking (oamc) in general? If so, you might want to spend a few minutes (or hours) on the Get Started Series. If you are in a real hurry to catch on we have written some simple steps for getting started. Welcome!

Thanks for linking to my lasagna soup recipe – it’s a good one! :)
You are most welcome! It is delicious!
I bought the stuff for the Garlic Pork Roast and Sweet Potatoes (looks great!) and noticed that the directions didn’t include ALL of the ingredients listed, so I clicked to see what the original recipe says. I’ll be preparing it her way!! It’s not a lot more work, but I bet the added taste is totally worth it. I encourage others to do the same! Just my 2¢!
Kelleigh, our recipe includes the same ingredients as listed in the original post from Get Crocked. And while her method is delicious, we made the recipe more adaptable to freezer cooking and easier for a big cooking day.
Has anyone else noticed that some of the menus are not available to us non members? I was trying to look at the Whole Foods Menu and got a page that said “Oops, you have wandered into membership territory.” I don’t do monthly cooking but I like to look at the whole foods recipes that you find on the web. I can see some Feb. menus, is this a glitch or a new change (though I haven’t seen anything about this in the daily emails…)
Danielle as of September 2012 we moved to a paid membership service. You can see some of the FAQs about our membership service here http://onceamonthmom.com/membership/faqs/ however you should be able to see all of the recipes that are outlined for each menu on the menu month page. You just will not be able to view the documents we provide unless you are a member.
The recipe for the Bacon and Butternut Squash Casserole says 7.93 cups of kale, but we only bought a little over one bunch! I think that may be a typo on the recipe. (I plugged in 4 people.) Looks yummy, though!
Is the labels printable of a pc?
I assume auto correct got you here, do you mean are the labels printable on a pc? Yes pc or mac.
The recipes this month do not include what the serving size is…could you update the spreadsheet, or is there something I could reference? Thanks!
Cassie, I have updated the cards to reflect the serving amounts.
