DIY Cupcake Liners
DIY Cupcake Liners
One day I was all geared up to make cupcakes for my son’s school party. I had all of the ingredients at home already. This made me super happy because it meant no trek to the store with the two boys. The batter was all whipped up, the oven was preheated, I pulled out my pans and went to grab the liners I normally had on hand, only to come up empty. Thoughts started running through my head: Could I run to the store without a hassle? Can I wait and have my husband bring them home? WAIT…what if I make my own? The parchment paper came flying out, and here’s my creation!
What you will need:
- Parchment paper
- A small kids cup or half pint jar
- Scissors
Step One: Trim your parchment paper into approximately 4″ by 4″ squares. If you want more flare to your edges, simply make a larger square. You can always trim later.
Step Two: Place your square on top of the base of your small cup. You can see I used those cups from the $1 bin at Target. They are the perfect size. Not to mention kid friendly and BPA free.
Step Three: With a tight grip, pull the paper down over the cup so you get a tight circle and pleated edges.
Step Four: Place into your muffin tin and fill 2/3 full with your cupcake or muffin batter. Bake as directed. After baking I folded my edges over some to get more of an open look that you see below. But you can certainly leave them more upright, or trim them all together.
And in the end you will have a beautiful presentation just like at the fancy French bakeries.
