Do you and your family go to the movies? What about around the holidays? Do you have a tradition like some families of going to see a holiday movie, or actually going on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day?
Around here we LOVE movies! Our son (14 months) isn’t old enough to participate in a family movie night out but we can’t wait until he is. My husband is a huge movie fanatic (ie – we have to see EVERY movie trailer on iTunes when they are released) so we see lots of movies.
This holiday season, you can save some money at the grocery store AND see a movie courtesy of General Mills cereals. Starting today (November 1st), you can receive a free movie ticket when you purchase two specially marked packages of General Mills’ Cereals (see participating brands below). After purchasing two cereals, visit generalmills.com/moviecash to enter the code found inside each box of cereal and print your free movie certificate good for admission to any movie.
Participating brands include select sizes of: Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Trix and Reese’s Peanut Butter Puffs. Here are some coupons found around the internet and in the Sunday paper for these products too:
- $.55 on 1 Honey Nut Cheerios
- $1.00 on 2 listed cereals only – Honey Nut Cheerios/Cinnamon Toast Crunch/Lucky Charms
- $.55 on 1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- $1.00 on 2 (9/27SS) 11/7
- $1.00 on 3 (10/4GM) 11/28
- $1.00 on 3 (10/18SS) 11/28
So if your kids (or you) already eat this cereal, or you have been thinking about trying one or more of them out, now is your chance to do so and score some free holiday entertainment for you and your kids!
General Mills and My Blog Spark is also offering one lucky reader 4 free movie passes and box of cereal! You can get a head start on planning your holiday movie festivities. (You may wish to check and see if there is a participating movie theater near you: http://emoviecash.com/dis_locator/). Here is how you can enter to win (you can comment using the following criteria for up to 6 entries):
You MUST answer one of these two “comment” questions – you can answer both as separate entries as you would like – remember to leave your answers as SEPARATE comments:
1. Comment #1 – What holiday movie are you most looking forward to this season?
AND/OR
2. Comment #2 – Will you be cooking the October (Thanksgiving) or November (Christmas) OAMM menu(s)? Why or why not?
Additional ways to enter:
3. Tweet or Facebook the following phrase. Save this holiday by winning 4 FREE movie passes @onceamonthmom http://onceamonthmom.com/?p=4382. And don’t forget to leave a comment below stating you have done so.
4. Subscribe to the blog via RSS or email. Let us know that you have done so. Of course, if you are already subscriber make sure you leave that too.
5. Join the NEW Once A Month Mom Facebook Fan Page (this is different from the group and they don’t allow me to just transfer you). Leave a comment below if you joined or are already a member.
This giveaway ends Friday, November 6th at 5 pm. Winner will be chosen by random using random.org.
Disclosure: I was provided with 4 free movie tickets and a box of free General Mills cereal as part of this promotion. The opinions listed above are my own.

Q2:no we won’t because we’ll be visiting family for the holidays!!
Comment 1: I’m most looking forward to the classics like Rudolph. my little one is 2 1/2 so he’s finally at an age where he enjoys movies.
Comment 2: I won’t be doing the full menus of either but I’m doing both breakfasts from October (as part of Tuesday’s #BakingDay). Got a baby due this month so it’s last minute pack the freezer time!
And with a baby on the way soon I don’t want you going into labor! Good call on the just making breakfasts

Fantastic website!!!
The only movie I saw that looks interesting is “Amelia” but I believe it’s already out in theaters. We aren’t big movie-goers (mainly b/c of cost and having little ones). It would be a fun date night for sure!
I don’t plan on making the Oct menu b/c I just had a OAMC day and my freezer is stocked. We also are having some fave TNTs for the holidays. I haven’t looked at the Nov menu yet but plan to once the kids are in bed!
What holiday movie are you most looking forward to this season?
Totally A Christmas Carol. Technology looks awesome instead of the crazy haunted eyes in The Polar Express!
I am cooking the November menu on Tuesday! Already blogged about it too

Comment #2 : YES! I need to go shopping, but I’m hoping to cook both so I just need to bake cookies in December!
What holiday movie are you most looking forward to this season? I haven’t seen many advertisements lately. That Christmas Carol one looks interesting. But we’re wanting to all go on Christmas Day to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks. We’ve never did that before and I think it would be fun.
God bless,
Amanda
Will you be cooking the October (Thanksgiving) or November (Christmas) OAMM menu(s)? Why or why not? Hmm, not sure yet. I’ve never did a big cooking day. Just little bits here and there. I may have to try it though. If I do, it would probably be the Christmas one.
God bless,
Amanda

I already made several things from past months including the pumpkin items from the October menu. I will make several things from the November menu, but not all at once. I’m 6.5 months pregnant and don’t have the energy to do a FULL day.
I am 8 months pregnant and am with you on the not having enough energy for a FULL day. I have done bits and pieces for the last few months myself. Congratulations!
I became a fan on Facebook and I might do the November meal planning. It sounds great!
I actually have no clue what holiday movies are coming to the theaters this year. But I will be indulging myself in White Christmas, as always

I love the oldies like Miracle on 34th street and I also LOVE Elf!
I have never tried a whole cooking day. We have just a fridge/freezer and I am nervous about getting it all done and having room. i have been trying to double what I make and freeze half though. I am hoping to try a OAMC day soon!
Ghosts of Christmas past
Question 1: My husband and I watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase endlessly during the holidays. Not quite one for the kids though!
Question 2: I haven’t started the OAMC thing yet though I’m interested to try. We’re probably moving soon so I don’t think this will be the month I start.
We can’t wait to see the new Disney Christmas Carol! Looks awesome.

Ok – I’m a bit slow. I watch Elf for the first time last year. What a hoot! I’m definitely looking forward to watching that one again.
I wished that I could do more “monthly cooking”, but I only have the small freezer above my fridge. I do try to make extras and freeze that however.
