Flesh and Blood Cake

Growing up, my mom and her siblings called this Red Velvet type cake “Flesh and Blood” Cake. It is kind of a gory description for this delicious dessert, but as a mother of 4 boys – the red representing blood and the white frosting representing flesh. Having passed the recipe down from one generation to the next, it has become our family favorite as well. It is requested for birthdays, graduations and even weddings!
