Grill Recipes – Please Share!
Three and a half years ago I bought my first house. One of the determining factors in the purchase of this house was the large patio on the back! It is perfect for family barbecues. We have hosted many a great party on this deck and had many a good hamburger! My husband LOVES to grill, rain or shine. It is the one time of year when I can count on him spending more time getting dinner ready than me. It is a wonderful mix of food and fun.
With summer around the corner, and the birth of better weather, we are starting to clean the cob webs off the grill for the season. I am also in the process of thinking through our May OAMM menu. The month of May should bring us grilling meats, like beef, hotdogs, and smoked sausages, on sale. Do you have a recipe that goes well on the grill? Whether you think it is freezable or not, share it here. Who knows, we might even feature you on our upcoming May menu!

This is so simple, I’m almost ashamed to submit it as a recipe! Take 1 1/2 pounds of ground turkey and mix with one packet of dry ranch dressing mix. I use 93% lean turkey – ground turkey breast is too lean for the grill and gives you a dry burger. Form into burgers and grill! These are a healthy alternative to a regular burger and the ranch taste is fantastic. My toddler LOVES these, which is another reason why they’re a hit during grilling season.
Hi! I use the Make Ahead Steak Fajita recipe in the following way: I make the marinade, cut up the beef and freeze it. On meal day, set it out to thaw and then grill! The easiest way to do these on the grill is to place meat, onions, green peppers and marinade on tin foil for easy clean up. The grill gives it a wonderful flavor – especially if you add a few mesquite chips to the charcoal – it’s a family favorite!
We like to peel and dice yams. Then we place each person’s serving in a foil pouch along with a touch of olive oil or butter (either works), brown sugar, and cinnamon. They go on the outer edges of the grill while the meat is cooking. YUMMY!
I’ve found that I get more creative with side dishes when my hubby is doing the main dish!
Hi! I got this from a friend a long time ago…we call it Jamee’s potatoes.
Wash and cut potatoes into cubes
Put potatoes in greased foil
Add cubed onions and butter. Add salt, pepper, other seasonings if you like. Fold foil making a packet. Poke a couple of holes in the foil with fork for venting. Potatoes are done when fork tender, usually about 15-20 mins.
Enjoy!
Wow, these would all be great for camping too! My favorite thing is to marinate chicken breasts with a packaged marinade called Baja Citrus. Overnight, of course. This marinade is perfect for salmon too. You could also add some grilled kielbasa to Courtney’s potatoes up there. Yummola!
I’m linking to bobby flay’s hoisin pork loin. It is a hit every time, and quite simple.
I’m posted a babyback rib recipe on my blog and used Mr. Linky. This recipe is the only way my husband will eat ribs. Thanks!
Ok…don’t know how many wild game fans are out there but this is my fav: Duck/Goose Kabobs
You cut the duck or goose breast into 1 in. cubes, place in bowl at enitre bottle of italian dressing, let them marinate for 3-4 hours. Than you take bacon, lay it out flat, add a piece of duck, smear cream cheese on the duck with the back of a spoon, roll the bacon around it and stick it on a skewer. *Remember to soak the wooden skewers or they will catch on fire.* Repeat until done. Grill 5 min, turn grill 5 min.
YUMMY!!!!
I love pizza on the grill. Our family has different tastes in pizza. My husband and son like pepperoni (and only pepperoni) while my daughter likes cheese and I love any and every type of vegetable. Therefore, I take a can of premade pizza dough, roll out and cut into 4 squares. Coat both sides of each square generously with olive oil and place on preheated grill. Cook for a couple of minutes per side (or until desired doneness). Remove from grill and have each person top their crust with their favorite toppings. Return to grill. Turn off grill and close lid. Let set for a few minutes until all the cheese is melted. Serve.

I don’t know if this is much of a recipe, but… this is one of the family’s favorite’s on the grill:
Marinate boneless, skinless chicken breasts using a bottle of italian dressing for 36 hours. Grill, (the key is to flip often) and serve. It’s so tasty & juicy from marinating for so long. Is great by itself or dressed up as a sandwich with cheese and some fresh spinach.
