Please excuse my ignorance, I’m unclear on some things on the Grocery list:
6 “ribs” of celery? what’s a rib?
10 garlic – 10 what? 10 full garlic things or 10 of the pieces that you break off the garlic (that’ are usually shaped like a pointy shoe and about 1 cm long)
1 package thyme – does this assume that packages all contain the same amount no matter where you buy it?
Can dry thyme, parsley, garlic, cilantro replace the fresh? if so, how much?
I occasionally buy bread and freeze it, but I’ve never bought it frozen. Is that really what you’re calling for or am I misinterpreting?
A rib is one a “stalk” that you pull off the bunch. See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080120093842AAYAlAi. Garlic indicates the number of cloves that you need, there are many cloves in each bulb of garlic. Most stores sell Thyme in small bunches or packages. Yes you can substitute dry and how much varies a bit by herb. However, the taste profile might change. In recipes I think it will be fine I usually go ahead and change it to try on the grocery list, however, these are recipes that I feel are best if you use the fresh product. Frozen bread loaves aren’t already cooked bread loaves that have been frozen, they are bread dough that has been frozen. They are usually found around the same place the frozen rolls are found.
