I am confused about the sausage that is needed for the Sausage and vegetable medley recipe. Can you give me an example or a brand name?

I am a little confused by what you mean by “make a slit/pocket” in the bread for the cran. french toast. Do you just slit like you are going to slice it in half long ways (like cutting through the crust?) or do you slit into the soft middle part. Just wanted to clarify! Thanks

With the bread slice laying flat, cut into it horizontally along the crust. About half-way in, enough to stuff in the “cranberry goodness”.

When I made them, I slit a small hole using a sharp knife through the middle of the crust, forming a pocket about 1/2 way through. I stuffed the bread using a decorator bag with an oversized tip with a big opening. I made it so easy to fill. I filled each one with about 1-2 T of filling.

Hi, I was SO excited to try this menu with my sister-in-law, and we DID slave away in the kitchen for 14 hours last weekend. However, I think it was 14 hours very well spent! I think the recipes ALL will be very good–thanks!

We did find a couple of inconsistencies in the menu/instructions/grocery list.

#1 Sour cream for Freezer Potatoes was not listed on the grocery list.

#2 The instructions say to chop 18 med onions (about 36 C.) Wow! That’s a lot of onions. We didn’t have “medium-sized” onions, but we decided to quit chopping at 20 C. of onions. Anyway, after further review of the recipes, we only found onions in 3 recipes. 1 C in Bacon Brunch Bites, 6 C. in Spaghetti Sauce, and then 4 med onions left in rings for the Asian Peanut Butter Pork–we had already chopped the onions, so we didn’t have any rings.

#3 The grocery list said to buy 4 lbs. of mushrooms. We don’t like mushrooms that well, so we thought we would only but 2 lb. I’m glad we did, because we only found 1 recipe (sausage vegetable medley with 8 C. mushrooms) Even so, 2 lbs, was more than that.

Overall, you have a great thing going on here. Thanks, and we can’t wait to eat our meals and try again next month!

Glad you had fun and thanks for the feedback! I don’t cook the menus before I post them as I am usually shopping for them as items are on sale as well. So it is great to get feedback on items that might need to be changed. Here are my thoughts:
#1 – OOPS! You were right about that. I added it.
#2- I did my math wrong on cups equivalents but it should have still been 18 med onions. You were right about having forgot to put the rings separately. I have made those changes as well.
#3 – I went back to my source for figuring equivalents and realized I was using the sauteed mushroom equivalent. 1.5 lbs should be enough. I have changed that too.

Again thanks! Your fellow readers will be very grateful!

How do you print the menu? I can’t see it…I just see the notes and the tabs for the recipes and when I click on the tab I can then see the recipes…what am I missing or doing wrong?
