Another helpful tip is to categorize by section, which makes it easier to get in and out. I read that every extra minute in the store over 30 minutes costs $1!
I have a 7 person household, should I just double the amounts???
If you are cooking for JUST your family and not having a partner you want to cook this list. If you are cooking with a partner, you will want to double. This grocery list makes enough to feed 2 families of 4 – so you would make the whole thing for your family of 7. I would use 2 9×13 in place of 4 8×8 pans where listed.
Thanks so much! I just bought my list tonight. I bought all organic and a lot extras and only spent $600.00 plus I live in a pretty lavish mountain town in Colorado which means extra $$$- This saves a ton! And to think a family of 4 could eat for less than $100/ week on this menu. How cool.
I think T-bone steaks might need to be added to the grocery list.
Thanks! You were right! I fixed it.
I think provolone cheese slices need to be added.

[...] Summer 2010 OAMM Grocery List [...]
Hey, we had a great time cooking yesterday. We loved eating the cinnamon rolls this morning. When we were cooking, we came across some items that were missing on our grocery list.
Provolone slices (as listed above), we were short lots of ground beef, it seems there may be a difference between the grocery list and the instructions list. Thank you for your hard work, we love cooking your meals!
I was just wondering about the containers needed for this menu. I went in to look at the shopping list & and notice that there were no numbers attached to this section. I am so excited about the summer menu!! Thank you for taking the time to do this!!
So sorry about that! I can’t believe you were the first to mention it. I fixed it so you should have the correct amounts needed.
Hi there,
First of all, I just want to say that I think this is a fantastic idea, thanks so much for posting it with recipes and lists and everything! Second, I just want to clarify – the grocery list and recipes are for feeding two families of four, is this correct? So for one family of four I can cut both recipes and grocery lists in half, and for just my partner and myself (we have a picky 5-year-old so I’m not counting her) we can cut both the recipes and grocery list into quarter portions and have enough to feed us both? Is this right? Sorry if I confused you!
You are correct. Although. I would suggest that if you are cooking alone that you do half. It might just be you and your husband but leftovers are nice to have for lunches too. Or you could make them smaller portions. AND if you ask around you might just find someone that wants to do this with you as well. You would be surprised. If you go to the OAMM CONNECT page there are people looking for cooking partners all around.
I noticed that on the shopping list you show that you need 10 garlic cloves, but in the recipe “Sun Dried Tomatoes & Caper Pasta Sauce” it calls for 32 cloves, minced. Plus the 8 needed for the “Lemon Chicken” and the 2 needed for the “Tangy Marinated Steaks”.
I also have a request…
After reading several comments, I have noticed that there are quite a few people that are cooking for just one family (instead of two). Is there a way that the lists and recipes could be made available in half as well as full recipes? Just a thought.
BTW, I love what you are doing here!!!!
I’ll look into the garlic issue. I hear ya on the adjustments for one family BUT my time is extremely limited as it is, trying to get the regular menu done. I will do a poll in the next week or two to get a better “feel” but I’m not sure if I could swing it with everything else that happens here. I will definitely take it into careful consideration.
