Diet OAMM: Healthy Turkey Burger Recipe
Dieting or adjusting the types of food we eat doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a big, juicy burger every once in a while. It just means we might need to make a few changes when we do eat one. We can load the burger up with lettuce, tomato, and pickles but skip the mayo and cheese. We can replace the fries with some steamed in-season veggies. Instead of beef, we can try making the burger with turkey. And let me tell you, I have a great turkey burger recipe for you to try. It’s so simple but chock full of flavor! Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Christine @ Onceamonthmom.com
- 1 pound of 93% Lean Ground Turkey
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 clove Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped
- 4 Egg Whites
- 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and form into equal size turkey burger patties. If cooking immediately, heat pan on medium until hot and then coat pan with non-stick cooking spray. Reduce heat slightly and cook until no longer pink on the inside.
Freeze raw or cooked turkey burger patties by placing each burger between two pieces of wax paper. Store in gallon size freezer bag.
