I Love Trader Joes

If you are fortunate to have a Trader Joes near you, you most likely know how wonderful it is. But just in case you haven’t visited one before, let me tell you that I love TJs. I have bought most of the food items there for making baby food. It is the cheapest I have found. And when I really don’t feel like looking through the adds to find anything cheaper, I know I can count on TJs for the best non sale prices – hey, after all, I AM running after to kids under 2- so sometimes I just don’t feel like doing the extra research : )!
Here are a few items that I frequently purchase:
- $3.99 Organic Gala Apples 3 pound bag.
- $1.99 Organic Frozen veggies (peas and green beans so far)
- $.24/ea Organic bananas (I know this looks weird but when I was in the price is for each banana not for pounds, so 8 bananas cost me $1.74)
- $3.99 Organic Pears 3 pound bag.
- $.89/lb. Organic Whole Carrots.

I love Trader Joe’s, but have never lived in a city that had one. The closest one is now 4 1/2 hours away (used to be 2, but we moved further north). I live in Northern Mi, and the closest is in Detroit.
I always bring a large cooler when we head downstate. The things I love there are: all of the organic items, the uniqueness of the frozen items, the unbaked pizza dough, the cost of the cheeses (cheap!), the enchilada sauce, the thai peanut sauce, the 2 buck chuck!, the choice of whole wheat pasta’s, all of the premade items (enchilada’s, queasdillas’ pizza’s).When I had my last child, one of my friends sent me 4 bars of TJ’s lemon verbana soap (my fav!) I really could go on and on, but I’ll stop here.
