For both families the grocery total comes in around 350-400 usually. Give or take. That is for two families so $150-$200 each. That ends up being less than $5 for each entree for four.

Thanks so much for a great return to OAMC. It has been a few years since I've done this because my cooking partner moved but I'm back solo now. I was a little confused by the rice dish instructions and since I've had cooked rice pretty much dissolve if cooked in other freezer recipes I just added it uncooked. Hopefully with all the liquid in the recipe the dish will still turn out:) Looking forward to another cooking day already but next time I'm putting the kiddos to work!

Oh My, we did our July OAM cooking day yesterday and it was a very, very long day... it took us about 13.5 hours, quite a bit longer than before. The food looks GREAT though, I have already eaten the raspberry cake and loved it! Thanks for your commitment.

The ingredients list calls for UNcooked rice. I put the amount of UNcooked in the recipe so that when you are making it that you don't accidentally make too much rice. However, the instructions have you cook the rice first before adding to the dish. The overall instructions have you making the rice the night before to save you time. Sorry for the confusion but I am certain there would be confusion either way. If I list the amount of COOKED rice needed then I will get asked how much UNcooked rice yields that amount of cooked right. OY! :)

Hi tricia,
We are looking forward to our cooking day on Saturday. I am still confused, the original recipe says use UNcooked rice. It also says, further down, when preparing to serve, that in one hour the rice should be almost done. So, Don't cook the rice, right?

I'm new to your site and exccited about it. However, I am a bit confused by some of the recipes. They'll say you'll need 4 pans, but then the instructions don't say to split it into 4 pans. For example, the Raspberry Coffee Cake says to pour 2/3 of the batter into a baking dish. Do I split 2/3 of the batter into 4 baking dishes? I noticed this on a few recipes.
