Making the Bathroom A Kitchen Retreat with Home Depot (Giveaway)
You remember that I was headed to Home Depot a couple weekends ago for their bathroom event, right? I was so excited to see some of the great ways we could continue to fix up our current bathroom and to improve on our “next” bathroom. Have you been to their bathroom event yet?
Here are a few of the things that I found that I loved:
- I LOVE this slender bathroom sink and cabinet. It is perfect for our rather close space!
- Perhaps even a bathroom faucet that is higher up in case you want to do more in that sink. You know, like washing your hair or washing dirty diapers.
- I would love a massaging shower head too!
- What about this great toilet seat that closes without slamming!

Where oh where to start… Would love to put molding around the mirrors in 2 of our bathrooms. Nice shower heads would be great too….
Ooh, I’ve had my eye on something that will help me not have to leap out of the way of scalding hot water every time someone runs water elsewhere in my house! This would definitely get me most of the way there.

I have been a Fan of your Facebook page for a while, but I also have become a fan of Home Depot and subscribed to the blog. I have my fingers crossed for that giveaway, living in a 1901 house that could use an updated kitchen and bathroom!
As for “how you would renew and redo your bath with the Home Depot Gift Card?”
As I said our house is from 1901, so bathrooms back then were really small. I would get a new sink that’s more fitting for the bathroom, I’d also fix the bathroom in the basement, we had a pipe break, so the shower that’s down there does not work. I would get that back working and replace the ceiling that was ruined with water.
We just gutted our guest bathroom and need a new toilet, sink, bath, etc. This would be so great!

I would re-tile the floor, and replace the shower (ok, so that’s more than a hundred dollars, and I was already planning to do it).

We definitely need a one of those “re-bath” shower/tub surrounds. Our tile is awful to clean and the tub is that 70′s mustard gold color. Not to mention a new tub faucet as ours is ready to fall out of the wall.

We recently bought an older home and honestly there is so much I would like to do to my bathrooms! In the master I have water leaking behind the tile, so I’d fix that. As well as change out all the brass fixtures, ick.

Which would I do first? It’s a tough call between replacing the CARPET (yes, yuck, carpet in the bathroom!) or the CHROME that is EVERYWHERE.

Oh, let me count the ways! The previous owners of our home built a quick, cheap additional bathroom onto the back of the house, and put in no heat or insulation! I think our first priority would be fixing that issue!

I have been following your blog for awhile now, and have recently fanned you on Facebook. Home Depot is also fanned.
I do not own my home, but our landlord gives us some leway with redoing certain areas to make it more efficent. Our bathroom is TINY, and I would love to find ways to add much-needed storage for things like toilet paper and common toiletries. Cabnietry and perhaps a new sink.
I would use it to purchase the new vanity I need for our bathroom remodel!

Our downstairs half-bath has a pedestal sink and absolutely NO storage. I want a new sink/cabinet so I have somewhere to put towels and such!

My bathroom is pink with black tiles on the wall with light pink square & rectangle tiles on the floor. It is very interesting and it needs to go!! We also do not have a vent in the bathroom so we have to leave our window open. We really could use a Home Depot Gift Card.

We are having to replace the floor in our bathroom right down to the studs so this would be helpful. You know after I get a new floor, I will need a new vanity and then a new toilet and bathroom accessories, etc……

When we recently did a DYO remodel, my well meaning husband removed some horrendous carpeting and tiled the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, he did not remove the toilet before he tiled, so he actually cemented (grouted) the toilet to the floor. I would use this gift card to purchase the supplies and rental equipment to go back and fix the mistake. Now that we know the “right way”, we’ll feel a whole lot better when the problem is fixed so that leaks will not ruin the structure of the floor! But, I am so proud that he was brave enough to give it a try!
Oh let me just count the ways that gift card could help! Both master & kids bathroom have this really ugly powder blue linoleum. My vanity is falling apart, I have had to nail in the draw bottoms because they keep falling threw. The drawer pull on one of the vanity’s dummy drawers is punched through lol. The fake wood grain is faded and coming off. The toilet double flushes. The shower encloser has a hole in it.

My bathrooms are small so I’d like to create more storage in it by adding some shelves, a medicine cabinet, paint, & some pics.
I just moved into a home I am buying and it has the tiniest bathroom! The guy Im buying it from told me I can do what I want, so my goal this year is to remove the tub/shower and build a shower myself. This will give us a little extra room to put towels and such in the bathroom. We picked out some tile from HD that we love!!! So that is hanging on our bathroom wall =)

Where do a begin? My entire bathroom needs to be redone outside of the tile floors we put in a couple years ago. Cheap white fiberboard vanity needs to go, I think the medicine cabinet is about 30 years old, our toliet tank lid is broken….the terrible textured walls. 100 wouldn’t do it but it would be a great start!

My husband and I are redoing the master bath – we’ve got a new tiled shower, bought a shower door from home depot, a toilet, faucets for the shower and now we need a vanity and a new light. Very pleased with home depot’s home delivery.

Oh dear – my bathroom is original from 1984. Let me just say maroon tiles, horrible yellow shower stall, and mauvey-pink countertops. It’s hot…NOT! I would spend that 100 towards our eventual remodel – maybe I’d splurge on a new toilet that isn’t YELLOW and wasting tons of water! :)

The easiest and least expensive way to re-do my bath is new paint and new paper holder, towel holder and new switch plate cover.

We just bought our house in November last year and although I love my bathroom, there is work that is needed badly! I have a nice big walk-in but my water heater is in it. I had a nice laundry closet also in the bathroom but I had to take the doors off and knock out part of a wall because my front-loader washer and dryer wouldn’t fit. :(
So I’d swap it around and put the heater in the large closet and make the big closet a real laundry room! It’ll take reventing the dryer and moving the water lines for the washer but it will be soooo worth it!! Then I could put doors back on the closet!! $100 would be a nice start at least :)

I would go for the most luxurious shower head possible. I love taking a nice long shower and they have SO many options available.
I would replace all the dirty and cracked grout in my bathroom and install safety hand rails and non skid mat in tub

I desperately need to retile my master bathroom stand in shower. The tiles were loose when I purchased my existing home as a newly divorced single mom/first-time homebuyer. The water has been leaking into the walls around the shower and I am afraid of what I will find once I start removing the tile. I have already purchased new lighting & fixtures to replace the cheap looking gold plated “builder-issue” fixtures. I still need to select new faucets. Every little bit will help.

I would use the gift card toward a new bathroom faucet (one that isn’t eroding), additional towel bars and a water-saving shower head.
Our main bathroom needs to be updated, it was built 20 years go. I would love the American Classics Savannah Vanity in Cognac with Marble Vanity Top in Kona and Mirror and the Jeffrey Court Brioche Glass Brick 12 in. x 12 in. Wall Tile on the back wall. Oh and of course I would love a whirlpool tub.
