March Instructions! | OAMC from Once A Month Mom

March Instructions!

I was running a little behind when I published this month’s menu and didn’t have the step-by-step instructions ready when we published the document. I promised them by March 7th and it looks like I got them done with about an hour and a half to spare! Whew!

They are now ready for viewing! You can view them by going to the March Menu or here!

tried the chocolate chip/berry pancakes this morning..used frozen mixed berries that I always have from Costco..marionberries/blueberries/raspberries..and they were awesome…very decadent…

made a double batch..used an icecream scoop to ladle out..made 18..so 9 went into the freezer in 4 bags for another day…

    way yummy..

thought they could work as a quickie dessert too..put on the bottom and layer icecream and berry syrup, a bit of whipped cream and you’d have a phenomenal ending to a meal

I’m a little confused (sorry, I am one of those people now that asks really stupid questions). I’m not sure how much of the chicken to precook the night before, and how much to keep raw for the recipes. I couldn’t figure it out from the instructions, and comparing recipe amounts is apparently beyond my cognitive functions!

    Thanks for your work.

The first page of instructions say to precook 4 lbs of chicken. If you are substituting chicken instead of shrimp you will need to cook an additional 10 lbs for a total of 14lbs. Maybe you were looking at the wrong instructions?

So how many pounds of chicken should I have that is not precooked?

    Thanks

Oh My Golly. This is THE coolest site I have come across. I am totally stoked to start the cooking frenzy. I am literally so excited that I want to run to my local bulk store and buy all my ingredients RIGHT NOW! I guess I will have to have patience. Thanks for doing this. It absolutely ROCKS.

Thanks! Glad you like it! Being patient will, of course, save you more money. We like saving money! Can’t wait to hear about your journey!

  6. What was the Peanut Oil for in the March menu? It was pretty expensive at $7 and I cannot find it listed on an individual recipe at all. I’m thinking I’m skipping something, but if you could point it out to me I’d appreciate it!

Lots of people have done this menu, including me, and you are the first to catch this. Sesame oil and peanut oil can be interchanged. I changed one of the recipes to be sesame oil so that we weren’t using peanut oil but forgot to take it off the grocery list. Oops. Perhaps you can return it? Sorry. I have changed the grocery list for any latecomers.
