May menu cooking stories
I have a confession. Ssshhh. Come a little closer. No, closer. Okay here it is, “I didn’t cook the May menu”. There, I said it. Yes, you can tell others. It turns out I am human. A very pregnant, finicky eater human. And let’s face it, my freezer is OVERFLOWING with food. And it needs defrosted. And we were on vacation. And the list goes on and on. I love some of the recipes so after we get everything cleaned out I intend to go back and make a few for the future.
In the meantime, I have asked a fellow reader and Once A Month Mom cook to share her story and do the May recap for you. If you have a story from your May cooking day be sure to link to it below. If Mr. Linky doesn’t appear to be working leave the link in the comments section. And as always, thanks for joining us!

May’s menu is delicious. Tricia, you are missing out. I hope that the pregnancy is going well and the vacation was relaxing and that you are able to get one of those fabulous defrosting surfaces so that you can enjoy next month’s menu! Thank you for all that you do!!!
I totally understand being finicky, especially in the beginning of pregnancy!! I wasn’t able to do the whole menu since I still had freezer food and until last week all I had was a regular freezer attached to my fridge. Loved the recipes, loved the meals, and looking forward to making more of them in the future, now that I have more storage space! Thanks for all you do (and for being honest!)
Tricia, I hope you feel better soon. I completely understand finicky pregnancy eating. I was totally grossed out by anything green except for avocados.
Anyway, I didn’t make all of the May menu, but the ones I’ve tried I liked. I can’t wait until Buffalo Chicken Spaghetti night. It tasted yummy and sinful on cooking day.
My dad was ill, in the hospital and just passed away, so the only thing I ended up being able to make were the Strawberry Muffins – made them twice, in fact!
Sorry to hear about your dad.
Thanks for letting me do the recap, it was fun!! My husband is glad his picture didn’t make it online
haha. We’re looking forward to doing June. Our only ‘complaint’ if you can call it that (again, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU) is that we need ‘healthier’ stuff on there. I know you can substitute, etc, but all the cream of soups, etc are so bad for you!!
hilarious! i love your transparency! i cooked may’s menu for the first time and i am looking forward to digging in to the first dish tomorrow night!
Make sure to come back and tell us how it was, and you know we like honesty.
Had my first big cooking day yesterday – will post my link soon with highlights, tips, suggestions, etc.
Great menu! Love having more time on my hands to enjoy the warm weather outside with the kids instead of being stuck in the kitchen.
Had the strawberry muffins this morning with the kids – had to make them STOP eating them! haha!
Kudos to that breakfast item choice!
