Mommy Needs a Shower (Evenflo ExerSaucer Giveaway)
It’s 10:00 am and my pajama pants are smeared with oatmeal, my hair is slicked back in a greasy ponytail, I’m a fire-breathing dragon and don’t even get me started about the formula I just soaked my socks in while walking through the kitchen! AGH! I knew I should have gotten out of bed “early” this morning but sleep just seemed WAY more important than a shower at the time. That was BEFORE I remembered that I have a friend coming over for a play-date in 3o minutes. Sound familiar?
Perhaps this is you:
I have to admit, when I got an email from Evenflo about this ExerSaucer program I laughed out loud with the bitter truth of it all. If I had a $1 for every time I have used my ExerSaucer toscore a chance to wash away the grime of the day I would be enjoying Panera much more frequently! I like many of you have used my ExerSaucer as a sitter to get that much needed shower. I’m not sure what I would have done without it some days.
And just so you know that you and I are not alone, here is some recent research from Evenflo:
According to a recent Savvy Parents Survey from Evenflo, 43% of parents of young parents say they have to wait until their spouse or other caregiver is around to shower and 6% of moms report never seeming to be able to find time to shower! In fact, 30% of parents put their child in an activity center like the ExerSaucer while showering!
Because you know, the day that you decide to get up 30 minutes early to take that shower in peace is the morning that your child decides to wake 45 minutes early to greet the day. Ugh! Can’t momma catch a break?
Well, lucky you, one of you IS going to catch a break today. Okay, you might not get a shower but one of you is going to have a chance to win one of the new ExerSaucers from Evenflo as well as a “Genius in Training” 12-month old tee. Because as much as I want you to get dinner on the table, I think you should smell good doing it.
Here is how you enter to win:
1. Leave a Comment telling me what reason you have had to use (or would use) your ExerSaucer in your daily routine?
Additional ways to enter:
2. Tweet or Facebook this contest – use @onceamonthmom & @evenflo. (Maybe something like: Do yourself & your baby a favor enter 2 win an ExerSaucer w/ @onceamonthmom & @evenflo: http://bit.ly/h204TC) And don’t forget to leave a comment below stating you have done so.

4. Become a Facebook Fan of Once A Month Mom Fan Page. Leave a comment below that you have done so or if you are already.
5. Become a Facebook Fan of Evenflo Baby. Leave a comment below that you have done so or if you are already.
6. Subscribe to the Once A Month Mom blog via RSS or email. Let me know that you have done so. Of course, if you are already subscriber make sure you leave that too.
This giveaway ends Tuesday, December 7th at NOON (EST).
Disclosure: Evenflo did not provide me with an ExerSaucer to review, they did however provide me with one to give away to one of you. All the opinions in this post are mine, want to know more about how I facilitate reviews, view my full disclosure policy!

A shower? Are you nuts? With 5 kids running around, my youngest being 6 months and oldest being 8, I hardly find time to shower. (Pee-eww huh? LOL) I would LOVE a saucer for my baby. She was a surprise after having my tubes cut tied and burned and I had already gotten rid of all my baby gear! She’s a demanding one and wants held ALL the time–so maybe a little saucer time is what she needs!
Yikes on the baby after all of that!

I would definitely use it to be able to shower also to cook, heck, maybe even so I could read for a bit while my 5 month old entertains himself in it.
Ohmigosh, that is me! I have a 5 mth old and personal hygiene has fallen so far down the list of priorities that I’m lucky to get a shower two times a week! I subscribe to you via google reader

I used a walker for my daughter and that was not very safe because she could move aroud and still get into things… It would be nice to have one like this to use while I am packing lunches in the mornings and cooking breakfast and it would even be nice to have while I am trying to do some cleaning.

I have a two year old, a three month old and a spouse serving overseas. I would LOVE the opportunity to shower more than once a week!! Maybe if I had a “babysitter” I might actually be able to cook more of the awesome food on this site.
ha ha ha. Mine are that close together too so I feel your “pain”. It does get better and you will be able to cook again!

I so would love an exersaucer!! My baby sleep so little during the day and wants to be held the rest of the time. I am hoping it will give me an opportunity to do things around the house!
Well, I haven’t needed to use the exersaucer yet…but Baby is due is two weeks, and I’m sure it would come in handy!

I’m on maternity leave right now, but after the holidays I’ll be back at work full time & both my husband and I will be trying to get ready for work and get our five year old and newborn fed and ready to go. An exosaucer would be such a sanity saver, maybe we’d even be able to make it to work on time without waking up hours early!
I would do just that.. shower! HOpefully it would have enough fun things on it so my two year old would watch but BUT LEAVE her little brother alone while he’s in it!

Ooo, I “need” this! Our old one is well-worn, and every time we let someone borrow it, it came back with pieces broken.
I’d definitely stick it in the kitchen when I’m making supper!

Well, seeing as how I’m sitting in front of my computer with an oily pony tail (at least I think it’s a ponytail…not sure there is an actual hairband in there) I would be using the darling exersaucer for a much needed, loooong shower
.
Using it for a shower is pretty high on the list but there are so many other reasons: fold laundry, make dinner, clean up, just sit and breath for 5 minutes. The only problem the last one we bought my son really did not enough so I’d love to get him a new one that he’d actually want to stay in longer than 5 minutes!

I borrowed my sister’s exersaucer with my first child but want to get my own now. It was seriously a lifesaver! My son was entertained in it long enough for me to get ready each morning and again while I prepared dinner. He even used it long after he could crawl and walk and would just walk around it instead of being put inside it. Love this!

With a two and three year old and one on the way, an Exersaucer could save the day. I’d definitely use it while it was bath time for the two older ones.
I am about to have our seventh baby. I have a ten month old foster baby that we hope to adopt soon–the babies will be exactly one year apart. I will have four kids under five years old, plus three that are in grade school. Exersaucers and playpens may be the only way I will get ANYTHING done. haha But, I can’t imagine a better life!
I would use this in the mornings when I am getting ready for work and in the evenings when I am cooking dinner. This is a great educational/discover-your senses toy that would be fantastic!

The many uses of an exersaucer…. take a shower, cook dinner, protect the baby from dogs, dirt, siblings, etc, be able to talk to husband w/o entertaining baby… shall we go on?
I have a jumper i used to let me take a shower. My question is, what are we supposed to do when they outgrow the jumper/ exersaucer? I just try to shower when he sleeps, unless I have a day where I have the energy to do it before bed. My hubby works offshore so i’d smell pretty awful if i waited 28 days til he came home to get a shower in!
I hear ya! I do like you and take one when they are napping. Or I put the baby in the crib with toys and let her play while I am showering.

I am a complete fan, and a facebook fan. I would love to win this for my sister. They had to downsize to an apartment and she has a 6 mos old. An excersaucer would be PERFECT because they have little room and Andi loves to stand. PLEASE PLEASE Pick me.
I would actually give this to my friend who is pregnant with her first. I think it would be such a huge sanity savior for her.
I already get your daily emails.
I am a mother of 3, 3 years and under. My youngest is 5 months, then there is the 21 month old and my 3 year old. I would use the saucer to give my older 2 children some more one on one time. As they have been so great at being old siblings to the baby it would be a gift for them to get Mamita and Daddy time without baby bro in the arms. Shower is always good but I give it up to spend more time with my sweet crew of 3.
I am fan via FB of OAMM and eveflo, also shared contest link, I receive your emails etc.
My youngest was born when my oldest was 15 months. I’d already learned the great wonders of the exersaucer. i think i used it the first time just so I could brush my teeth one particularly bad day. baby nor i had slept for a long time and i just needed that ‘little’ bit to feel a bit more human.
by the time my youngest could use it i’d figured out what a God send it was. now that i’ve passed our’s along i wished i’d kept it on hand…. just in case.
i subscribe to OAMM
i could really use this.we have a suprise baby coming in july and i’m sure this would help when i need to shower ,cook, or play with our 3 yearold.
Definitely for a shower or to color with my 2 year old.

I think an exersaucer would come in handy at dinnertime, when two hands are needed to get supper on the table at a reasonable time, before everyone melts down.
I am a subscriber. Thanks!
My kids practically lived in their exersaucers. I especially have fond exersaucer memories with my firstborn. I too used the exersaucer to take showers and in general entertain my daughter (she liked to be upright plus it gave her a chance to stretch and strengthen her legs). It’s now been seven years since my last baby was born and I’m having to re-collect all my favorite items. An exersaucer is at the top of my want list.
Are you spying on me!? My hair is in that greasy ponytail, my 21 month old just splattered the oatmeal on the floor, my 2 month old is trying to work out a burp while perched on my lap as I read my email to get directions for a playdate that starts in 25 minutes and chug my morning coffee! *Sigh*
I would love an exersaucer!!!!
Lol!
I would love this to not only keep the baby entertained while I cook, but to keep them safe from siblings! Thanks for the chance

I’ve used my exersaucer to hold my gals while I prepare/serve meals…when they were little tots! They are 3 and 5 now .I am due with baby 5 in feb. 2011 …I already gave away all my baby supplies to various girlfriends and family by the time this one came along..whoops!As it turns out I am less prepared for this baby than any other baby I’ve ever had….due to the economic hardships the restaurant industry in our area has felt ….finally this year.

Making meals, preparing food, not only for myself but for my older daughter. helps to contain & entertain to get daily chores accomplished. And according to their website, the new toys are designed to help children reach developmental milestones… so we really can’t go wrong can we!?

While I can already get a shower w/o the use of any kind of baby equipment, I do remember the days when the exersaucer was my best friend.
In fact, when my princess broke her arm at 9 months, we borrowed four from neighbors for the 48 hours she was in a splint and not able to crawl. We just kept her going from one to the next to keep her happy.
If I win, I will give it to one of the three needy families I know that have just had or are going to have a baby. I know it would be a welcome gift.

I would use this so I could keep my newest granddaughter – 3 months old, so her mommy (who has a total of 5 kids) could get a break, whether it was to get a bath, take a nap or just stare into space and enjoy a few minutes of quiet
would use for my daughterinlaws sister who is newly pregnant and very excited
I am a fan on FB. My little one is 15 months and has cerebral palsy. He is not yet sitting on his own so I would use this to not only get some things done, but as a therapy tool as well. I’m sure he is tired of staring at the ceiling and playing in the high chair!

As a first time mom (due in April) I would love to have an exersaucer so I can continue to keep up with housework and laundry. And especially for getting in my morning shower-I can’t function well without one!
I am entering this to win it for a friend who is pregnant with her first baby. I have 4 children, all of whom are out o the exersaucer age, so I know the “priceless-ness” of an exersaucer. Mine saved me many a time over the years! So I would like to pay it forward to a new mom, about to embark on one of life’s greatest journeys. Thanks
