Mommy Needs a Shower (Evenflo ExerSaucer Giveaway)

It’s 10:00 am and my pajama pants are smeared with oatmeal, my hair is slicked back in a greasy ponytail, I’m a fire-breathing dragon and don’t even get me started about the formula I just soaked my socks in while walking through the kitchen! AGH! I knew I should have gotten out of bed “early” this morning but sleep just seemed WAY more important than a shower at the time. That was BEFORE I remembered that I have a friend coming over for a play-date in 3o minutes. Sound familiar?

Perhaps this is you:

I have to admit, when I got an email from Evenflo about this ExerSaucer program I laughed out loud with the bitter truth of it all. If I had a $1 for every time I have used my ExerSaucer toscore a chance to wash away the grime of the day I would be enjoying Panera much more frequently! I like many of you have used my ExerSaucer as a sitter to get that much needed shower. I’m not sure what I would have done without it some days.

And just so you know that you and I are not alone, here is some recent research from Evenflo:

According to a recent Savvy Parents Survey from Evenflo, 43% of parents of young parents say they have to wait until their spouse or other caregiver is around to shower and 6% of moms report never seeming to be able to find time to shower! In fact, 30% of parents put their child in an activity center like the ExerSaucer while showering!

Proof: Propped up Isaac at 4 months so I could get said shower! :)

Because you know, the day that you decide to get up 30 minutes early to take that shower in peace is the morning that your child decides to wake 45 minutes early to greet the day. Ugh! Can’t momma catch a break?

Well, lucky you, one of you IS going to catch a break today. Okay, you might not get a shower but one of you is going to have a chance to win one of the new ExerSaucers from Evenflo as well as a “Genius in Training” 12-month old tee. Because as much as I want you to get dinner on the table, I think you should smell good doing it. ;)

Here is how you enter to win:

1. Leave a Comment telling me what reason you have had to use (or would use) your ExerSaucer in your daily routine?

Additional ways to enter:

2. Tweet or Facebook this contest use @onceamonthmom & @evenflo. (Maybe something like: Do yourself & your baby a favor enter 2 win an ExerSaucer w/ @onceamonthmom & @evenflo: http://bit.ly/h204TC) And don’t forget to leave a comment below stating you have done so.

This giveaway ends Tuesday, December 7th at NOON (EST).

Disclosure: Evenflo did not provide me with an ExerSaucer to review, they did however provide me with one to give away to one of you. All the opinions in this post are mine, want to know more about how I facilitate reviews, view my full disclosure policy!

A shower? Are you nuts? With 5 kids running around, my youngest being 6 months and oldest being 8, I hardly find time to shower. (Pee-eww huh? LOL) I would LOVE a saucer for my baby. She was a surprise after having my tubes cut tied and burned and I had already gotten rid of all my baby gear! She’s a demanding one and wants held ALL the time–so maybe a little saucer time is what she needs! :)

I’m on maternity leave right now, but after the holidays I’ll be back at work full time & both my husband and I will be trying to get ready for work and get our five year old and newborn fed and ready to go. An exosaucer would be such a sanity saver, maybe we’d even be able to make it to work on time without waking up hours early!

  44. Shannon says:

I would do just that.. shower! HOpefully it would have enough fun things on it so my two year old would watch but BUT LEAVE her little brother alone while he’s in it!

  52. Ooo, I “need” this! Our old one is well-worn, and every time we let someone borrow it, it came back with pieces broken. :( I’d definitely stick it in the kitchen when I’m making supper!

  58. Well, seeing as how I’m sitting in front of my computer with an oily pony tail (at least I think it’s a ponytail…not sure there is an actual hairband in there) I would be using the darling exersaucer for a much needed, loooong shower :) .

  59. Melanie says:

Using it for a shower is pretty high on the list but there are so many other reasons: fold laundry, make dinner, clean up, just sit and breath for 5 minutes. The only problem the last one we bought my son really did not enough so I’d love to get him a new one that he’d actually want to stay in longer than 5 minutes!

I borrowed my sister’s exersaucer with my first child but want to get my own now. It was seriously a lifesaver! My son was entertained in it long enough for me to get ready each morning and again while I prepared dinner. He even used it long after he could crawl and walk and would just walk around it instead of being put inside it. Love this!

The many uses of an exersaucer…. take a shower, cook dinner, protect the baby from dogs, dirt, siblings, etc, be able to talk to husband w/o entertaining baby… shall we go on?

  113. caroline says:

I have a jumper i used to let me take a shower. My question is, what are we supposed to do when they outgrow the jumper/ exersaucer? I just try to shower when he sleeps, unless I have a day where I have the energy to do it before bed. My hubby works offshore so i’d smell pretty awful if i waited 28 days til he came home to get a shower in!

I am a mother of 3, 3 years and under. My youngest is 5 months, then there is the 21 month old and my 3 year old. I would use the saucer to give my older 2 children some more one on one time. As they have been so great at being old siblings to the baby it would be a gift for them to get Mamita and Daddy time without baby bro in the arms. Shower is always good but I give it up to spend more time with my sweet crew of 3.
I am fan via FB of OAMM and eveflo, also shared contest link, I receive your emails etc.

My youngest was born when my oldest was 15 months. I’d already learned the great wonders of the exersaucer. i think i used it the first time just so I could brush my teeth one particularly bad day. baby nor i had slept for a long time and i just needed that ‘little’ bit to feel a bit more human.

by the time my youngest could use it i’d figured out what a God send it was. now that i’ve passed our’s along i wished i’d kept it on hand…. just in case.

  145. Kristen M. says:

My kids practically lived in their exersaucers. I especially have fond exersaucer memories with my firstborn. I too used the exersaucer to take showers and in general entertain my daughter (she liked to be upright plus it gave her a chance to stretch and strengthen her legs). It’s now been seven years since my last baby was born and I’m having to re-collect all my favorite items. An exersaucer is at the top of my want list.

  146. Carrie L says:

  164. While I can already get a shower w/o the use of any kind of baby equipment, I do remember the days when the exersaucer was my best friend.

In fact, when my princess broke her arm at 9 months, we borrowed four from neighbors for the 48 hours she was in a splint and not able to crawl. We just kept her going from one to the next to keep her happy.

If I win, I will give it to one of the three needy families I know that have just had or are going to have a baby. I know it would be a welcome gift.
