OAMC Stockpiling Checklist: Keeping the Pantry Stocked
I have been asked on several occasions if there are items that frequently appear on the Once A Month Mom menus. The answer to that question is YES! So the next question is always, well, what are those items because I would love to stockpile them when they are on sale. For those of you that aren’t grocery shopping/saving enthusiasts, stockpiling is a purchasing items when they are on the deepest discount or sale so that you have them on hand when you need to use them. This means purchasing items ahead of time in most cases and having enough storage space to keep them until you are going to use them.

The Once A Month Mom menus are designed so that you save money by buying items when they are going on sale so OAMM typically figures this out for you BUT there are times when items go on sale and it would be nice to have list of items typically used so that you could shop ahead. At least for those that would like to do so. And if you are wondering how to get started with stockpiling, here are some blogs that have outlined some great steps for you:

SO, I have teamed up with Ziplist who has a NEW checklist feature available, to create an OAMC stockpiling checklist for you!
The items on this checklist are items that you will frequently find on Once A Month Mom menus. You can print or save this checklist for yourself and if you shop the weekly sales and coupon you can keep the checklist on hand for what items to stock up on.
There are a TON of other checklists that you can find on Ziplist as well. And if you haven’t used Ziplist in the past, you should! It is a great way to organize yourself BEFORE heading to the grocery. You can install a toolbar on your browser that allows you to press a button and save a recipe to your grocery list! So say you are browsing Once A Month Mom and you come across the Cinnamon Swirl Bread and you decide you just HAVE add that to this week’s grocery list. Press the Ziplist Recipe Clipper, add the recipe to your grocery list and away you go. You can even add other weekly shopping items to your grocery list as well.
The checklists are great too because you can share those with others. And there are so many great checklists already created by users for you to try for yourself. Here are a few:

I have done each step that was detailed above… I have yet to follow any specified list on ZipList… I use the app many times throughout the week for my own grocery shopping. I will definitely be following the OAM list.
I’d use the grocery list to have hubby check while he’s out and about – rather than him trying to hear the list I’m rattling off with kids squealing for attention in the background.

Ziplist is new to me and I’ve enjoyed perusing the site. I will highly recommend it to the participants in the freezer cooking class I teach for our local Community Education program. For myself, I would use the General Grocery Shopping list most often, but I like the pantry-stocking one also.

Totally awesome! I use this app and site everyday. I use my personalized checklist the most. I’ve saved so many recipes to this app and I don’t need to waste paper printing the recipes up to use them.
I LOVE the healthy kids lunch list. I’m always struggling to give my girls the nutritional and delicious lunches they deserve. What a great resource!

Yes, you can freeze most cheeses and use them later. I freeze cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan all of the time.
