OAMM Gift Extravaganza Week: KitchenAid 12-Inch Counter Top Oven (TILT)
I don’t know about you but I am a sucker for a good small appliance. Anything t make my life a little easier from day to day is welcome in my home no matter how much space it takes up. Well, as long as it isn’t fighting for time in the bathroom, that is.
So while everyone else is telling you about the great KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, which of course, is fabulous, I wanted to tell you about OTHER great appliances that KitchenAid makes that might just make you as gaga as the KitchenAid mixer.
My new kitchen friend is the KitchenAid 12-inch Convection Countertop Oven. This thing is the power of a real oven in a smaller box. I have actually been wanting one of these for quite some time. Especially for the summer months when I don’t want to turn on the full size oven to heat up chicken fingers or fish sticks for the kiddos. Or to heat up dinner for that matter. The big oven just gives off so much heat.
But this little oven can do the exact same thing, stirs up less heat and uses less energy than the regular oven. I like that. And it is perfect for heating up small portions or the whole meal. The other night I used it to heat up our side dish of twice baked potatoes (recipe coming soon) while the oven was occupied at another temperature with our main dish. Perfect! I love being able to have dinner on the table all at the same time!
But I think the most fun I have had with this product was seeing Isaac when I received it. I decided that perhaps I should just save it and gift it to him for Christmas. He has become accustomed to us receiving packages regularly and I have taken to calling them “prizes”. When a package arrives he usually exclaims, “MAMA, you got a prize!” And then we proceed to open it.
On this particular day I was not around. Poor grandma. She had to endure hours of “Please open the prize?” while they waited for me to return. When I did we opened it immediately. You would have thought that it was a life size Buzz Lightyear or a new train table the way he reacted. He kept yelling, “Wow! Neat! So Cool! It is an oven. You cook? Isaac cook? Wow! Neat!” I just giggled. I had no idea he would be that excited over an oven. I know he likes to cook, but wow! I suppose to him it looks like an Isaac size oven. I can’t wait to continue using it to let him help me “cook”.
And here is the part you all have been waiting for, the fact that I have one to giveaway to a lucky reader! Here is how you can enter to win:
1. Leave a Comment telling me what you would use the KitchenAid 12-inch Convection Countertop Oven to cook most often OR who you would gift it to and why (you can use a code name if they read the blog too)?

I would probably give this away to my mother in law!
I’m a facebook fan!
I’d used it for anything that fit in it! So much better than heating up the house with the oven!
This would be very lovely to have in the hot months (we have no A/C). I would use it to cook dinner in the garage! Just like I do with my bread maker in the hot months.
Just became a FB fan of OAMM.
Just became a FB fan of KitchenAid (I love my standing mixer!).
I would definitely gift this to my wife, Marta. She is without a doubt the best wife, mother, daughter, friend and whatever else a woman could be!
She is the full-time caregiver of her mother who has advanced multiple sclerosis. She homeschools our twins who are in first grade. She supports me as a wonderful Army wife. She is the vice president of Programs the Fort Bliss Protestant Women of the chapel, which serves women from all over the Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas community. She makes and delivers meals to families in need. She’s constantly on the move and she does it all with joy in her heart and a smile on her face.
What better gift to make her hectic life easier. I would love to bless her, but even if she doesn’t win it, I just love bragging on my wonderful lady.
Thanks!

How sweet!
I would probably use it most to cook quick things like fries, etc. I have never used one- but I would love to try!

Toasting sandwiches would be one of my favorite reasons to have a convection oven. We had one but I gave it to my daughter when she left home. I do miss it.
So sweet that your son was excited about your oven. He sounds like a good helper. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.
Ohh, I’ve been wanting one of these. Heating frozen meals and/or small batches of cookies.
I would love the counter convection oven for making small casseroles and batches of cookies for my husband and I.

I have been looking for a new toaster oven for my kitchen. I am pretty sure it would get a steady use of heating lunch for my kiddos….pizza, corn dogs, etc. I would love to try it out on something more adventurous. To actually use it to bake something that I would generally do in my regular oven…what a novel idea!?! I am a Facebook Fan of Once a Month Mom and love to visit for all your wonderful recipes!

I’ve never owned a toaster oven so I wouldn’t know what to do. I’d have to experiment and get to know it better.
My oven from 1980 is on it’s last legs – so I would totally use this for everything! I homeschool, so it would be so awesome for my kids to be able to use in our cooking!

I would probably use it for heating up chicken nuggets and popcorn shrimp! I too hate turning the big oven on for such things. Especially in the summer!
How great would that be for baking small meals, a small batch of FRESH cookies!! (from frozen dough). I am a facebook fan adn rss subscriber.
I’d like to try to make pizza bagels!

I would love to use it for the things you mentioned that we eat for lunches on the weekends as well as heating up rolls and garlic bread instead of having to start the big oven just for rolls or bread!
I follow OAMM via Google Reader
I would use it for chicken nuggets. I hate microwaving them, but can’t stand the thought of turning on the oven for them!
TOTALLY agree!
I also subscribe to the RSS feed.
Oh, I would love to win this! My DH and I have been talking about replacing my old toaster oven for months, but just haven’t done it because we’re not big shoppers. We even threw away our nasty microwave this summer (no desire to replace that appliance), but that didn’t work to get us to go shopping for the toaster oven. We use the toaster oven daily for warming leftovers.
I love these things! I would use the KitchenAid Counter Top Oven for heating up my kids lunch for sure among other things. DH said i can’t buy one, but he didn’t say anything about winning one…

I would probably use it two main ways: 1) if I was just heating up, say, a single chicken patty for myself, and 2) to cook a side dish at a different temp than the main dish. It boggles my mind to try to recalculate how long something should have to cook at a slightly different temp.
I’d probably use it to heat up lunches since we are all here and it can take some time to heat up everybody’s individual meals.

i don’t know much about counter top oven’s. although, they have started to peak my interest lately. what types of things can you put in them? I am curious! Thanks!
LOTS of stuff! Pretty much anything you can fit in the bigger oven, although not to the same scale. But you can cook 2 12 inch pizzas you could cook 8×8 baking pans of OAMM recipes. Oh, the possibilities are endless.

I think I’m just as excited as your son is about this KitchenAid 12-Inch Counter Top Oven. I suppose a life size Buzz Lightyear would be exciting as well. I have been wanting one of these amazing oven’s for as long as I guess you have been wanting one, but my husband got sticker shock when he looked at the price. So, I was going to ask Santa if he could please send me one. I homeschool my two little boys and it would be so nice to use for our lunch ideas. My favorite is a slice of bread with a piece of cheese on top. I I also love making small pizza’s with it too. Oh Santa..I hope you’re reading this. This is the best giveaway ever!! Merry Christmas and God bless you all…
We would def. Use it for dinner on the regular. But it would also be nice for things like mini-pizzas, and fun things the kids and I make together.
Ohh I’d use it for chicken for the kids, homemade garlic bread and potatoes. So many options!

I would use it to melt the cheese on my sandwiches and to lightly toast the bread to give a bit of crunch before putting the tomato, avacado, and lettuce and turkey and some mayo to finish it off. I would use it to cook anything I can fit in there so I can keep the kitchen cool. I have wanted one of these every since my friend made me a sandwich one day. I couldn’t believe how amazingly good it was.

Oooh, I’d love this! We are always making big portions and then reheating in the week. So I’d use it a lot for reheating. There’s a root dish I make a lot that I need to warm up just about every day.
I would use this to heat up my food so that the free radicals do not take over my food if heated up in the microwave.
I just looked at the reviews and it looks like pizzas turn out really well.. so that what we could probably cook the most with it

This awesome oven could not come at a better time, mine just broke. Of course my old counter top oven was nothing compared to this baby!
As I have a 24 inch electric stove with an oven that no longer works-I would use this for everything!
I would give it to my parents!
I would use it for smaller things that I don’t want to heat up the larger oven for.
http://twitter.com/mysweetcarolina/status/13224882603036673
It’s just me and hubby at home now – I could see this becoming the oven we use most often, instead of the big one!
I would give this to a dear friend of mine who was hit hard with rough times. I know times are trying these days but in the midst of a divorce and rasing 3 kids (all under 5) while her (now ex) is over seas her oven went out on her, this may be small but at lease she could cook some dino chicken nuggets for her little rugrats.

I would give it to my friend. Her stove is an apartment size so when she makes a meal for special occasions (or something more than just pasta etc.) it takes forever because the oven won’t fit anything more than a rectangle cake pan. It would make it so much easier if she could do 2 menu items at once.
I became a facebook fan! I too would LOVE to gtet rid of my microwave :0)
I’d definitely use this for yummy homemade frozen pizzas
i would use this to heat up things like fish, pizza rolls, dinner rolls, pizzas…little things instead of heating up the oven.

Well I have decided I am going to learn how to cook and not be so worried about the whole process. I am too old to be this way about cooking. So I figure I would have my daughter come over and we would use the oven. She has one at her apartment. She is not afraid to cook like I am (supposed to be).
Thanks,
Amy
We’re just two people at home so I’d be using this for broiling fish or vegetables, toast for breakfast, heating pizza, well, almost everything I can think of goes into the toaster oven.

I would use it myself to make everything! Our oven is old and heats sporadically so it’s a toss up whether food will turn out well or not. I’d use it most on pizzas and cookies, I think!
Since I live alone I would use it for small casseroles and cookies!
