Pregnancy Update: 39 Weeks
I honestly believed that I would NOT be writing another pregnancy update. I thought I would be writing new baby updates by now. Wow, how this pregnancy has really thrown me for a loop!
According to my calculations I am 39 weeks today, according to the doctor, I am 39 weeks tomorrow. In the grand scheme of things, the doc wins! So tomorrow, at 39 weeks I am being induced. I have a history of chronic hypertension that has worsened in the last few weeks leaving the risks of carrying the pregnancy further higher than inducing the delivery.
When the doc scheduled the induction 10 days ago I thought, “There is NO WAY I will ever make it that long”. I wasn’t referring to physically as much as mentally. Guess I was wrong. This babe seems pretty persistent at teaching me that I am not in control!
At any rate, today will be the last day we are a family of 3. It still seems a bit surreal. I am excited but in a reserved kind of way. I have to say, I am a little nervous about the induction. Not because I fear it as much as it is just the “unknown”. Ultimately, I am still praying I might start into labor this evening making the induction unnecessary. We will see. Either way, by tomorrow afternoon we should have a new little one to introduce to you.
Thanks for your support, encouragement and prayers. There will still continue to be posts each and every day as I have written a lot ahead and have some GREAT guest posts from readers. It will be a great end of the year!

I’m SO excited for you and Ben & Isaac. Can’t wait to meet the new addition!
Yay, the time has come! Looking forward to meeting “her!”
I’ve been checking the blog every day for any baby updates. Good luck on the induction. I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the good news, so let us know as soon as you feel up to blogging. Or maybe have your husband do it for you. Newborns are quite the handful.
Ben was blogging within 5 minutes of Isaac being born-I’m sure this one will be no different!!
I am sure you are right!
Good Luck tomorrow! And savor the last day as a family of 3!
Love you guys. We can’t WAIT to meet baby Callahan! Lots of prayers for you all.
You look so great! Best wishes & prayers to your family. Thank you for all the wonderful posts you have recently written and planned for the future.
Congratulations! I was induced with my twins, and while it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, it honestly was not as bad as I had convinced myself it would be. And the reward at the end is definitely worth it!
I am so happy for you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers.
You are in my prayers.
I will be praying for you today and tomorrow!! Hang in there!
Tricia, I can’t believe you haven’t had this baby either! We’ve been praying for you often. We will definitely keep praying today and tomorrow for the induction. Can’t wait to hear the big news!!! And BTW, Kaleb is starting solids, so I’m going to try some baby food recipes and finally use that pot! All my wishes for the miracle that is about to occur!!!
I am so excited for you! I can’t wait to hear how it goes and see pictures of your little one. I was induced with my son (my water broke at 35 weeks) and although it made labor sporatic, it went fine, and he was orn healthy and beautiful! My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Congratulations, a day early. Just keep breathing, it’s going to be okay.
Not too much longer! Knowing that you when you will be having your baby is helpful, I will be praying for you!
Best of luck to you and your little one! Enjoy your last day of being a family of 3!
I am sure you have heard lots of induction horror stories, but mine with Joshua was not that bad. I was one day overdue and induced b/c of high blood pressure…only labored about 12 hours which is fast for an induction (of course then I had to have a C b/c apparently I do not have childbearing hips! BUt I was fully dilated!) So I think that if your body is ready, and it probably is because of the previous contractions you’ve had, you’ll sail through.
I’ll be praying for you!
Good for you for going this long! I had hypertension issues as well and thankfully my OB let us deliver at 37 weeks. I wanted to wait longer, but just couldn’t do it.
Good luck, tomorrow!
Whee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to hear the news!!!!!
Can’t wait to meet the newest addition!
May He Who Loved us First carry you through tomorrow as you have carried this baby!
Good Luck and you will be in our prayers!! Hoping it all goes smoothly.
You look beautiful in that picture!!! I’ll be thinking of you & keeping you in my prayers tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear the news!!!!
Wishing you the best.
Congratulations, Tricia!
I’m in my 7th month of my pregnancy and am loving it! Being pregnant is really a fabulous experience. There’s gonna be not one thing far more valuable in this world than holding my new born baby in my arms for the very first time. I can’t wait to meet her! My dreams of parenthood is actually at last coming true.
That is so awesome! Please come back and make sure we see a picture! It is well worth the wait. Although very exhausting!
