Pregnancy Update: Week 32
I was having a casual conversation with my sister-in-law the other night and we were discussing how far along I was and how much longer. It was in that conversation that I felt like bus hit me!
32 weeks! That means only 6-7 weeks left until this baby arrives!
For those of you that don’t know me as well, I have chronic hypertension. At 33 it is a bit “odd” but it runs pretty heavily down both sides of my family tree. I got “lucky” with the early onset. So, when you are pregnant and hypertensive they keep a close eye on things and don’t let you go a day beyond 39 weeks, hence the maximum of 7 weeks left. (There is a whole medical explanation for why but I will spare you).
Isaac was born at 38 weeks and 4 days so we could be looking at only 6 weeks left. HOLY COW! I have a lot left to do.
So this weekend I frantically started making Christmas lists, shopping sales and putting in to play my hopes of getting all the shopping done in the next 2 weeks. I ramped up our “honey do” lists. I took an extra bp pill. . .this is all stressing me out. . .and I am writing this post as therapy.
As for how things are going? *whispering* pretty well *end whispering*. Sorry for the quite response, I usually regret answering that question in the positive by a bout of sickness. Last pregnancy I was on modified bed rest by 33 weeks (after close monitoring and raising my bp meds from 2x a day to 4x a day). So the fact that I haven’t even had to raise my bp meds once during this pregnancy is a good sign! (And apparently a sign that being a SAHM is good for my health!)
I do remember one of the OB’s at the office last time telling me that you double in size (stomach) from 32 weeks until the end. He said I wouldn’t believe him (I didn’t) but that it was true. He was right. So I am anxiously awaiting what the next 7 weeks holds for me in growth. We’ll see.
My husband and I have been leaning towards it being a girl almost the whole pregnancy. However, this week we have both had dreams it was a boy. So who knows? But we love the fun of “guessing” until the big day.
Okay, I think that is enough rambling for one day. Thanks for listening. And OH – if you are interested in submitting a guest post for Once A Month Mom please email me. Posts will be accepted the next week or two for “airing” sometime between mid-December and mid-January. Any topic that you think would relate to OAMM readers and/or be appropriate for this time of year will be considered.

Yay
You’re exactly 10 weeks ahead of me
Time is flying fast here… It’s freaky to think that after all our Christmas stuff is done (our last thing is “Christmas” w/ my family on New Year’s Day), I’ll only have ~8/9 weeks left. Ack! LOL. You look great! *whispering*I hope things keep going well for you*end whispering*
You are the most beautiful pregnant lady I’ve ever seen! I love you and I’m proud of how well you’re handling Isaac AND this pregnancy…
I too have chronic hbp and I went to 38.5 weeks with my little one. No problems with my meds up until that week, my bp shot to 190/110 and I had no symptoms either. Just had to check it randomnly. I am a firm believer on the dream prediction. I dreamed it was a girl early in and changed my original prediction and sure enough…a girl. Then a friend had a poll going on hers and everyone said girl. But when she said she dreamed it was a boy, I said boy. Sure enough….boy. So I’m going to say that you need to plan for a boy. Can’t wait to see if my streak stays true.
um, you are adorable.
You are looking great Tricia! I am guessing GIRL
You are the cutest pregnant lady. So petite!
My daughter gave birth to a baby girl three weeks ago today, my first grandchild, and my niece is in labor as we speak with her little girl. Girls are in the air in Texas!! My parents became great grandparents for the first time and are getting two in three weeks. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and delivery!!!
I’ve really enjoyed the website and plan to have a cooking day sometime soon. I think we will start out a little smaller though until we see what we are in for!!!
I just found your site while searching for some OAMC meals. Congrats on your pregnancy! I’m 37 weeks today (expecting #3, also a surprise), and I’ve never tried OAMC before. I think the nesting has officially kicked in, so I plan to cook like a made woman this week. Thanks so much for all of your ideas & recipes!
Take it easy at 37 weeks! I did have someone go into labor after cooking their OAMC day!
Not kidding either. . .
You look great!
You’re like a little bitty mini person who happens to be preggo! And, isn’t Ben just the sweetest!!! (yeah, I saw the comment)
Thanks.
And yes, my hubby is the sweetest.
I believe that if you, as Mom, listen to your body, then you know what the sex of the baby will be. Growing up, I wanted to only have boys. When I got pregnant that feeling went away and I had this “girl” feeling. Ok, so I had my doubts and wondered if it were actually a boy even after seeing the three lines on the ultrasound. But my gut feeling was right. Granted, you have a 50/50 chance of being right, but my gut told me the opposite of what I had always wanted and it was right.
