Rice Krispies Raspberry White Chocolate Cream Cheese Trifle
This Rice Krispies Treats™ was suppose to be a “show stopper” at the dessert table. I am not certain if I would declare it is a “show stopper” to top all “show stoppers” but I will claim that it will stop your taste buds in the midst of your dessert experience as they beg for you to place the contents in your mouth faster and faster. . .I suppose that would be a taste bud accelerator then, wouldn’t it?
Back with the creation of the Caramel Apple Pie Trifle I wondered why I didn’t experiment and create more trifles. They are so easy to create and pull together. They are also a great looking dessert that your kids can help you to pull together. And if you don’t make them like Rachel in the famous “Friends” episode, they are absolutely delicious.
When faced with this latest Rice Krispies Treats™ challenge I knew that a trifle was in our future. The real question was how to make it a holiday show stopper? I debated with peppermint and candy canes but the truth is no one in this house likes peppermint. That wouldn’t be good. It would be a show stopper for sure, but not the kind I was going for. Then I moved on to just going with the candy cane look but with different flavoring. I mulled over the idea of cranberry using my new cranberry sauce but ultimately decided that cranberry was a bit of a polarizing flavor.
So I did what any good cook would do, I experimented. I created a new raspberry sauce similar to the cranberry sauce and started dreaming up a dessert that would make my guests return to the dessert table many times over. (After all, I want to fatten them up so they want the Diet OAMM menu in January, right? I kid. I kid.)
So here you have it. Rice Krispies Treats™ as you have never seen them used before. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

- 1 batch original Rice Krispies Treats™
- 2.25 cups Raspberry Sauce
- 1.5 cups milk
- 6.8 ounces instant white chocolate pudding
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 0.5 cups sugar
- 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed
First Layer-Rice Krispies Treats™ balls – Make a batch of traditional Rice Krispies Treats™. While they are still warm, portion a heaping teaspoon of the treats onto a piece of wax paper. After you are done with this they should be cooled a bit and easily formed into small balls. Set aside until ready for assembly.
Second Layer-Raspberry filling – In a smaller bowl in the slow cooker (or a small slow cooker) add all ingredients. Cook on low for 3 hours. Turn off slow cooker, remove lid and let sit for 30 minutes. Mix and break up raspberries. Chill.
Third Layer-Pudding Mixture – Mix white chocolate pudding and milk, whipping for 2 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes until set up. Meanwhile cream softened cream cheese and sugar in mixer until well blended. Fold pudding and whipped topping into set putting when finished.
To create trifle – Use half of the Rice Krispies Treats™ balls to form a layer on the bottom of the trifle. Pour 1 cup of raspberry sauce over that first layer. Pour half of the pudding mixture on top. Repeat all 3 layers using the remaining ingredients. Use remaining raspberry sauce to drizzle over the top. Enjoy!
You will be freezing all elements separately. First, place the Rice Krispies Treats™ balls in a plastic container with wax paper between the layers of balls. This will prevent them from sticking together. Place the raspberry sauce in a plastic container or gallon freezer bag to freeze. And place the pudding mixture in a gallon freezer bag to freeze. To serve: Thaw all bags in the refrigerator. Assemble according to directions above several hours before serving.
