Saturday Stumbles: December 11th, 2010

itscome2this.com

It has been a great week around here! Due to the great example of a good friend I decided to limit our television watching this week (and maybe into the foreseeable future). It isn’t that I don’t like television or that I see anything wrong with my son watching television shows or movies. It is just that I have really started leaning on it as a crutch far too often. And he is more than willing to let me.

It really isn’t so much about him not watching television as much as it is about me being intentional as a mom. Truth be told I haven’t felt so stellar about my job as a mom lately and definitely want to improve. So I figured joining her in her journey might help. And it did. Well, the extra scheduled play dates didn’t hurt either! :)

So that is what has been happening with our week. What about yours?

And don’t forget all of the FABULOUS giveaways that were happening this week on OAMM! It is OAMM Gift Extravaganza Week after all! Here is what you don’t want to have missed out on entering to win:

And as for Saturday Stumbles, this is what I have been reading:

Once A Month Moms

  • I didn’t see any this week, sorry if I missed you! :) If so leave a link below.

Recipes (that caught my eye)

  • Fire Roasted Cream of Tomato Soup from Chefdruck Musings – I am not usually a fan of tomato soup but this looks like one I might just like!
  • Cookie Cutter Gift Tags from My Kitchen Addiction – I am by no means crafty but I just might attempt these this year. Or at least she makes me confident enough to think I can.
  • Homemade Croissants – I am not a baker but I have always wanted to attempt these. It might come from the fact that my husband would literally bow down at my feet if I made him a homemade version of these! Well, if they turned out that is!

  1. I have seriously cut back on my kids’ “screen time” since October and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done as a parent! We still watch a couple of shows a day and there is still a place for it, but I think intentional limits are the way to go.

  2. web traffic says:

Have you ever tried a kettlebell workout?

It’s the best way to lose fat and get in shape.
