Seriously? The last day of July? Tell me it isn’t so? Where in the world has this summer gone to? Boy has it been fun though. Remember, tomorrow is August 1st and a NEW menu will be posted. I have had a 3 month break and am excited to get back to providing you with new food to cook!
Here is what I read this week:
Just Because:
I read a lot of blogs, not all of them with recipes and food. I rarely bring you those links because, well, I am busy and it is hard to do ALL the links I love. BUT this week on a particular down day Amanda shared this post with me and I just thought you might enjoy it too!
Once A Month Mom’s
- Freezer Meals for Us – this is a great website put together by some women who do a freezer cooking group. So many of you have asked me about doing that so you may want to check out how they do it!
- Coley’s Q’s listed this site as a reference in her Freezer Cooking Friday post.
- Vanderbilt Wife has had me on her Menu Plan Monday lots lately as she did a freezer cooking day a few weeks back. I just keep forgetting to give her props. Sorry Jessie!
Recipes (that caught my eye)
- Frozen Fruit Salad from Amy’s Finer Things – because you know how much I love freezer recipes!
- Slow Cooker Creamy Turkey Dinner from A Year of Slowcooking – my husband loves turkey. I am certain I will get HUGE wife points if I make this one night soon. Which I plan to do!

August already is just insane. Absolutely insane!!
Hi I love the idea of OAMC, and I tried the summer menu. I have to be honest not many of the dishes did my family really like. I think it’s because I don’t really use what I call extravagant ingredients such as wine, capers, or sundried tomatoes etc. I was wondering though (if it hasn’t been suggested yet) if you would consider teaming up with Erin over at $5 Dinners to come up with a really frugal menu plan? I think this would be a great combination saving time and money! Thanks!
