The Final Grocery Trip – March

Well, this was our week to cook! And you have all seen how we made it happen. Now let’s get down to the numbers!

First, let’s start by reviewing what I purchased at the grocery stores this week. I had A LOT left to purchase. And I had to do at least on of these stops with a 7 month old in tow! Not an easy feat people! Here is what I got (for prices see the updated grocery list):

Aldi

*Sorry no picture! I was in a hurry to get all of this stuff to the freezer!

Kroger

*Sorry no picture! I had the 7 month old and we had just spent an hour at the store and going through coupons. He wasn’t exactly “happy”!

Meijer

*Ah, a picture! Nice (will be nicer when I get my camera back)!

March Final Total = $260.14 ($4.33/meal)

We definitely spent more this month than in February. However, I am still really pleased with this savings. We are eating salmon and shrimp folks! I am not sure there is any place (that doesn’t have a drive thru) that you can get a shrimp dinner for under $5! And, this is still less money per meal than I spent before I was shopping the sales and using coupons! So, yes it is more money than last month, but we are also eating some gourmet foods at a fraction of the cost! Pretty exciting!

I expected the price to be up a bit, there is so much more meaty stuff this time around. I luvs me some chicken, but I was excited to see the seafood, so I don’t mind the extra. I’m guessimating that after tonight’s trip to ALdi’s and tomorrow’s to Meijer’s, Shannan and I will be around $290 or so. I didn’t shop in the early weeks, so I might have missed a couple specials here and there. But heck, $290 is awesome I think!

Anything $5 or under per meal is an accomplishment!!

Hi – just a quick question (this is my first time to comment, but I love this website!)

Is the total amount for two families or just for one family?
