The Tweet-Up is HERE!
The day has finally arrived. Some of you are excited because you are going to be there, others of you are excited that you will stop hearing about this Tweet-Up soon. Whatever your motivations, I am EXCITED!!! I have been dreaming of this opportunity and this event for several months now so to see it come to fruition is WONDERFUL!
There are a few more people and sponsors to tell you about before we get started though. Any event always has new and emerging contributors, and I saved some very important contributors for today.
Here is what we will be highlighting this week:
- Part 1 – Miscellaneous Kitchen Products – these are all the things that don’t fall into other categories
- Part 2 – Kid Products – Products to help entertain your kids while you are cooking (or to help the babysitter out)
- Part 3 – Appliances – Appliances that will be available for hands-on review at the event
- Part 4 – Food Products – It is a cooking blog, of course there is going to be food for all!

My Cohorts
I truly couldn’t have done this event without Amy and Janelle! They have been such an encouragement and help. This whole event was actually the brain child of Amy (not sure if she knows or remembers that). She put a bug in my ear once upon a time that this was a good idea and I haven’t let go of it since. She was right. It has been so much fun! So give her some love here and on her site and when you see her tonight at the event. She is the BEST! (@AmyinOhio)
And Janelle, she is my sis so that says a lot right there. And she put up with me during my first once a month cooking session with a partner many moons ago when I was 6 months pregnant with my first. She is a Pampered Chef consultant on the side and has helped me to have great tools to use during this event, run the endless errands that needed run, and developed a great dessert recipe for the event. She is AMAZING! So if you need some Pampered Chef (great Christmas gifts), I’m not ashamed to say you should buy them from her.
Kate Pauling Photography
Kate has a great blog and has recently started really developing her photography business. She is a busy mom and a talented photographer so when she agreed to be the photographer for the event I was excited. She will be there capturing all of the great moments and great sponsors and giveaways. I am so happy that she can be there to capture everything and everyone! So visit her sites and if you live in or near the Dayton, Ohio area give her a ring for your family photos.
Cafe Boulevard
A local restaurant in the Oregon District, it is only a block from the Once A Month Mom Tweet-Up location. Following the event if you would like to dine or grab a glass of wine or dessert with a friend you can visit the restaurant, show them your Once A Month Mom Swag and receive 10% off your dining bill. In addition, Cafe Boulevard has provided a free dessert coupon to all in-house attendees.
Cena Cafe
Located near the Dayton Mall, Cena offers a unique blend of both Brazilian and Mediterranean dining traditions. Following the event you can show your Once A Month Mom Swag and receive 10% off your dining bill.

CUTCO
We have an AMAZING knife set to demonstrate and test at the event. It is the Galley Set and Kitchen Shears. In addition, CUTCO has provided 2 sets of their Kitchen Classics Sets to give away to participants. Folks, these gift sets that we are giving away are valued at $202!!!! Who doesn’t want some great knives?
Ziploc
Can this really be a once a month cooking event without Ziploc? I thought not. I was so tickled to find a contact for Ziploc and that they were so gracious and excited about being a part of this event. I go through a HUGE amount of Ziploc freezer bags each month, and I am sure so do you. Ziploc has provided everyone in-house with a box of freezer bags and has provided couple gift baskets for us to giveaway.
Gerber
As you all know we make baby food on this site, but let’s face it, my babies don’t always go for my stuff as well as they do others’. And there are those long vacations where ice cubes just won’t work. Gerber has generously provided us with 4 gift packs to giveaway for the event. They include boxes of their 8-grains with yogurt cereal, purees with DHA and Antioxidants, a Gerber teddy bear and a great recipe box full of baby food recipes.
Bob Evans
They have great food and after a long day of cooking in your kitchen, who wants to eat at home? Not me! It is a rule in our house that we go out to dinner or order in on cooking days. That is where Bob Evans can come in handy. Bob Evans has kindly provided $5 gift cards to in-house participants and a $25 gift certificate to giveaway online.

Tricia, I just wanted to thank you for the fabulous time at your in-house Tweet-Up! Erin ($5Dinners) had told me about it so I knew to register, and I’m glad she did. I don’t know about taking the once-a-month cooking plunge myself… But I believe the concept is so great for so many women; it’s also great that you use your prepared meals as impromptu gifting in times of need.
I plugged you in my recent blog post. I tried to be honest about my personal reservations with the concept as well as with the obvious benefits of doing it. My blog is just an itty-bitty one, as far as blogs go, but it seemed right to let you know this post is out there in case you wanted to check it out.
