Things I Love Thursday: Castaway Bay, Cedar Point
I have made it known many, many, many times that Cedar Point is my favorite place on earth! Yes, it is just that amazing. It is 3.5 hours from our home but I would travel that distance in a heartbeat just to have one chance to see/experience that park.
But it is the dead of winter and 33 degrees, why in the world am I talking about Cedar Point? Well, it turns out that Cedar Point isn’t just a great summer destination it is also a great winter getaway too! Well, not the amusement park, but the resorts. One of the several Cedar Point resorts is Castaway Bay. I’ll be honest I have been to Cedar Point no less than 30 times in my life and had yet to stay at one of their resorts. That is about to change!
We were invited to spend the weekend as a family exploring Castaway Bay, Cedar Point’s Indoor Water Park resort for a chance to see for ourselves how Cedar Point delivers year round. I was so excited because when I received the invite I had JUST been talking to my husband about how I wanted to take the kids to an indoor water park hotel sometime this winter. Isaac has always enjoyed the water and although he is very hesitant he is somewhat of a fish. Now Tessa, Tessa is more like a dolphin. That girl likes to play around in water like it is no one’s business! And given that she was born in December we haven’t really had her at the pool in the way that we have Isaac. And she just dives in, puts her face in and LOVES being splashed. I thought a water park would be perfect.
I wasn’t wrong. And Cedar Point did not disappoint. There was so much to do at Castaway Bay. The water park itself had a wave pool, a 50 person hot tub, water slides, a water roller coaster, a pool for playing basketball, a toddler area complete with slides and much, much more. We had a blast! And so did the kids.
The resort was nice too. In addition to the water park there are regular appearances by members of the Peanuts gang! Activities for the kids scheduled all day. And an activity room complete with board games, toys, crafts and more to entertain the kids. I was SO IMPRESSED. No sitting around the hotel room with children bouncing off the wall, instead we could head to the play room.
They have an amazing spa for the adults as well. It turns out that you can even host events, baby showers, wedding showers and birthday parties in the spa area as well. They offer everything from manicures to full massages. And the space isn’t that expensive to rent out either!
And don’t worry, I wouldn’t tell you about all this fun and not leave any fun for you! Nope, there are a few deals for you too. They are offering OAMM readers a special discount for booking a tropical overnight package AND there is an opportunity to get two spa services for just $99 (or $5 off one service). Services included in the $99 package include: 50 minute Relaxation Massage, Aromatherapy Facial or Aromatic Pedicure.
In addition to the above offers Castaway Bay also has a birthday club you might be interested in checking out to get free passes for your children for their birthday!
Anyone want to plan another trip with me?

We went there many, many years ago. It’s much further for us. Lots of fun though! I’d love to do it again! Thanks!
Let’s go!!! We live in Toledo and actually went to Castaway Bay (pre-kiddo) a few years ago. Just hubby and I had a great time and we can’t wait to take our daughter again someday soon.
Just made reservations, thanks for the discount!
Awesome! So glad to hear that. I *might* be a little jealous.
