Things I Love Thursday: Food Blogging & Traveling

I know it has only been a few short weeks since I told you about my love for Blogher and blogging conferences. And here I am at it again. But this is a little different. Sort of.

Last winter I was doing some research and assessing what conferences it would be best to invest my time, money and resources into. After all, it isn’t like I am getting paid to go to all of them (wouldn’t that be nice). So if I am going to spend my hard earned dollars on attending a conference or two, which would be best to go to?

International Food Bloggers Conference 2010As a food blogger I felt that I would likely get the most out of or grow the most from attending a food blogging conference. After all, I love to meet other food bloggers so that I can feature them on our menus, I want to get better at my recipe writing and photography, and well, I just plain LOVE food!

So I did a little research and found a few that sounded interesting. Then I asked my husband if any of them sounded interesting to him. He IS the webmaster around these parts and he does LOVE food on a grander scale than I do, so it only seemed natural that he might attend a food blogging conference with me.

We settled on the International Food Blogging Conference (#IFBC) as the one that sounded like it would be the best fit for us. And I am happy to report that as this is posting we are packing our bags, getting the kids squared away and getting ready to board a jet plane to Seattle! Together. Without the kids. Together. Without the kids. (Sorry that bared repeating.)

The agenda is absolutely amazing and the chefs, bloggers and food on hand this weekend is even greater. I can’t remember when I have been this excited for something. A weekend away with my husband, in a city I have never been, with people that share my love for food and for blogging, AND getting to meet some famous chefs, writers and photographers.

So hopefully I will be able to report some of our goings on as the weekend progresses. Stay tuned to the OAMM Facebook Page for sure! And I completely need your help! I don’t have cable and I am embarrassed to say that I am not familiar with as many of the chefs and speakers as I would like to be. And take a look at the agenda because I want to know – who is it that I should make a point to meet? What do you think I just have to try while I am there?
