Things I Love Thursday: HALO Technical Comfort System

Disclosure: HALO did provide me with HALO Technical Comfort System outfits for my children to facilitate this review. All the opinions in this post are mine, want to know more about how I facilitate review, view my full disclosure policy!

The summer has heated up around here! Recently it was in the upper 90′s with a heat index into the 100′s. Perhaps it has been heating up for you too.

The thing of it is, it doesn’t matter how hot it gets outside Isaac still insists on playing “OUTSIDE!” And what kind of mom says, “No, let’s stay in and watch television.” Not a sane one.

But I do worry about them getting heat exhaustion and sunburn and everything that comes with playing outside in the summer sun. So when HALO contacted me to ask if I would be interested in reviewing their HALO Technical Comfort System, I said yes!

I was a little skeptical about the toddler outfit as it is long sleeve. However, in the hot summer sun it works wonders for not having to lather him down with sunscreen before heading outside. (Don’t worry, I stil put some on his exposed body parts!) With an SPF of 30 I can let him play outside for a bit with out too much worry.

The fabric was nice and breathable to so he wasn’t sweating to death either. Even though he was wearing long sleeves and pants! And Tessa, that girl can sweat!

I also liked that the HALO Technical Comfort System helps with those babies that have skin sensitivities and eczema. Isaac had terribly sensitive skin in his early days. If summer had fallen earlier in his life we would likely not have been able to use sunscreen on him and these would have been super helpful!

HALO Technical Comfort System can be found at retailers like BabiesRUs, Amazon.com, Target, Buy Buy Baby, One Step Ahead or HALOComforts.

Well, I don’t want to just tell you about HALO Technical Comfort System and not give at least one of you the chance to try them out yourselves! So one of you has a chance to win a HALO Technical Comfort System outfit for one of your kiddos. Here is how:

I can’t decide if I would like one for my now 1 year old or one for my baby due in October to use next summer. If I got one for my 1 year old the baby would grow into it! :o )

I have young children who are sensitive to most sunscreens and we live in Florida – I could definitely use something like this!

  5. Valerie says:

I would love to try one of these. I think I’d get it for my 3 year old, so that he could play outside and have that protection and cooling. Granted, I’m due in Nov so that might be a good idea too (yes, I’m in the same predicament as you Jodi!)

  6. Rochelle says:

I’m like you. I would be skeptical about putting my kids in something long sleeved in the summer! I would use it for my 3 year old

  7. Jenny says:

I live in AZ and this would be great for my 19 month old.

  8. Marj M. says:

I would gift this to my, already in 6 month clothing, 3 month old great granddaughter.

I would use this for my son’s pajamas. He has sensitive skin and gets heat rash, yet insists on wearing his Elmo pants to bed AND covering up with his favorite blanket!

I would use it for my 17 month old. He has terribly sensitive skin and this would surely help especially when playing outdoors!

I am also a fan of Once A Month Mom fanpage.

My super fair skinned niece could really use this!

  20. Amy says:

One of these will come in handy next summer with my little one who is due in March. The baby will be too young for sunscreen, but I can’t stay locked up inside with an older child who will be 4.

  22. Rebecca says:

Both my kids (2.5 years and 7 months) have super sensitive skin. Sunscreen is SO expensive for them – I’d love to try this system out on my toddler and see what he think. Hard to believe they don’t get over heated….
