Toddler Teething Frozen Fruit Cups

When our kids are teething or under-the-weather, we love to give them all-fruit freezer pops. We usually buy them in the store, but of course, as with most all-natural products, they are a bit more expensive than the HFCS and sugar-filled versions. So, with two toddlers teething at once, I finally decided to make my own freezer treats. Kelly’s awesome yogurt tubes were an inspiration here. You could definitely do the same thing with this mix. But for our kids (2.5 and 1+), we always end up squishing the tubes into a bowl and chunking up the pop to be eaten with a spoon anyway. So, when making our own, we cut out the tube middle man and froze the fruit into individual muffin tin cup servings.

The frozen cups fit perfectly in these toddler bowls.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 pints fruit puree (I used 6 peaches, an apple and 2 cups of pineapple)
  • 1 pint fruit juice (I used cranberry)

Directions:

Puree your fruit either with your fruit/vegetable grinder and strainer KitchenAid attachment, an immersion blender or food processor. Mix in a pint of fruit juice and put everything in a pitcher.

Pour contents into a muffin tin lined with plastic wrap or a silicone muffin tin. Freeze overnight or fully set.

Pop or peel frozen fruit cups out of muffin tin. Place individual serving in a bowl or cup and chunk up with a fork to serve. Place remaining servings in gallon freezer bag and refreeze for future serving.

Freezing Directions:

When fruit cups are set, pop or peel individual servings out of muffin tin. Place servings inside a gallon freezer bag and refreeze until ready to eat. To serve, place serving in a bowl or cup and chunk up with a fork.

Servings: 12
