Top Ten Tuesday: Food Blogs I Read
On my Saturday Stumbles posts I have been alluding to the fact that I follow food blogs. I am a food blogger, that makes sense doesn’t it? I love gathering recipes for future menus and for our family dinners. I also love getting new inspiration for my own recipes. So I thought you might want to see the Top Ten food blogs that are in my Google Reader. I do subscribe to a few others but these are the ones that I not only subscribe to but also tend to get the most stars from me in terms of saved recipes.
10. Savor the Thyme – I first ran across Jen when she was participating in the Tastemaker Challenge leading up to Blissdom. She has some great recipes and regularly vlogs as well.
9. A Year of Slow Cooking – Since finishing up her year of slow cooking on December 31, 2008 Stephanie has been spending more of her time writing books and less of her time creating recipes but her site is still a treasure trove of all things slow cooker. And I am still subscribed because I don’t want to miss out on any new recipes that she has created.
8. A Southern Fairytale – I just discovered that I wasn’t actually subscribed to this blog. What? How could that be. I am there often enough, I’m not sure how that even happened. I remedied that fact though. Rachel is as funny and lively as they come and she takes some amazing photographs of her wonderful recipes!
7. Mushroom Channel – I’m not a huge mushroom fan, but that doesn’t mean my readers aren’t! They have great recipes all centered around, you guessed it, mushrooms.
6. Good Life Eats – I have been to this site many times but only recently added it to my Reader. She takes great pictures as well which is a great asset for a food blog!
5. $5 Dinners – Erin was the first blogger I ever met in real life! She also blogs about food so it just makes sense that I follow her blog doesn’t it? Quite a few of her recipes are freezer friendly too so they often make it on the menus.
4. Cooking During Stolen Moments – It is no secret that there are A LOT of Kate’s recipes on Once A Month Mom menus. I think a bigger challenge would be to find a month that Kate’s recipes don’t appear on a menu. She has practical and family friendly recipes.
3. Hoosier Homemade – I met Liz this past year at Blissdom. However, I had known about her famous cupcakes for several months prior to that. She often posts recipes and other adventures but she is known for her cupcakes especially.
2. Annie Eats – I love her recipes. Almost as much as I love my #1. She has amazingly yummy looking food and great photography. I am sucker for both!
1. Our Best Bites – I am not even sure how I stumbled on this blog the first time, but I am so glad that I did. Their recipes are always fairly simple and oh so tasty. And the photography is another huge draw. There is rarely a week that goes by that a recipe from this site doesn’t get bookmarked by me.

Thank you for thinking of me, Tricia! We need more time in the day!

Seriously! Bloggers should get at least 2 more hours than the rest of the population!
I’m so honored!!!
Thank you so much!
The feeling is mutual, I ADORE you, too!

I’ve got a food *related* blog in which I debunk some commonly-held-to-be-true nutritional info, like ‘negative foods’.
I also went on a 100 day starvation diet to show what havoc it plays on the body 1st hand (summation – Don’t Do It!)

Wow!!! Thank you so much for thinking of us! P.S. I’m pretty sure I’m going to steal your background color for my living room walls…
LOL – I suppose you have the Pantone colors then! Can I send you a print of the OAMM logo to hang too? (he he he)
Thanks for the list! I’ll check them all out.
Thanks Tricia!!
I’m still kicking around collaboration thoughts for the two of us. We NEED to do something one of these days.
