And they eat. My how they eat and eat and eat in the Summer. But no fear, we have you covered!

Are you a person that likes to see the menus visually? Perhaps you should check out the June 2012 Traditional Menu via Pinterest to see the yummy goodness you will be cooking up on this menu. Not sure what Pinterest is all about, check out what Once A Month Mom has to say about it.
Test Cooks
Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:
- Carla Smith - I’m a full-time employed work-aholic Mom who loves to cook. I’m very passionate about making sure my kids eat well, because honestly we don’t have the time to get sick and I think one of the keys is eating good food and not value menus that I drive thru and buy. The only way we make this happen is because of plans like this where I can freeze meals ahead and leave instructions as to how they can start them before I get home. As my facebook profile says: “Full-Time working crazy woman trying to keep up with 2 kids, 3 dogs and a husband. My life is a zoo!!!, but I love it!”
- Wendie Boswell - I am a 36 year old stay-at-home mom of 5 children, 4 in the home. I run a non-profit organization that provides free birthday cakes to foster children in Oklahoma. I love to EAT! :)
Get Started
Are you new to Once A Month Mom or once a month cooking (oamc) in general? If so, you might want to spend a few minutes (or hours) on the Get Started Series. If you are in a real hurry to catch on we have written some simple steps for getting started. Welcome!
If you are feeling abundantly blessed and generous feel free to donate. :) And don’t forget you can always go back and use June 2009‘s, June 2010‘s or June 2011‘s menus if you are looking for something different!

Love this menu this month:) When I was looking over the recipe cards, I couldn’t completely scroll down for the homemade bagels. I would get to where it says heat he oven to 425, then the next thing it said was freezer directions. How long do you bake them for?? Thanks!!
Amanda did you download the cards first? Try this link http://onceamonthmom.com/all-menus-saving-printing-google-document-grocery-lists-recipe-cards-instructions/
yes I did download the cards and saved them under google docs as my own document. I still can’t see past the preheat oven to 425.
I see what you mean now. I widened that card and copied and pasted part of the instructions to a new cell so hopefully you can see it now. Will you let me know if that works for you?
yep it works now:) Thanks!!
I can’t seem to get the labels to come up, every time I click on the links for each set of labels nothing happens.
Hmm. Not sure on this one as I have checked the links and they seem to be working for me. You might want to try using a different browser than the one you used. They also may be getting “blocked” by your browser as they might detect a “pop-up”. I hope that helps and let us know if it doesn’t as we want you to get them!
If, by any chance, you are on a MAC it could be downloading them into your download folder. Took me a few minutes to figure that out on mine!
Im new to this “freezer cooking” concept and I must say, its brilliant! Love the June Menu. I believe this will be my first attempt!
Welcome! And awesome on your cooking day scheduled soon. Please be sure to check back and let us know how it goes.
I think something is off with the Asian Lettuce Cups recipe. I entered 6 which calculated 36 lettuce cups but is only calling for 1.25 lbs of ground turkey. The ginger amount is really high as well.
I am very excited to see this as a freezer option – love it!
The serving yield should have read 12 servings not 36. Sorry about that. All the other amounts are correct. Thank you.
how do I print a the menu items without printing the link to origanl site I just need recipe cards
I’m not sure I understand your question but go through this post first and then let me know if you are still having trouble.
I recently found your site and am looking forward to trying my first menu! When I open the recipe cards link, download and save it in Excel, I can’t see all of the directions when I try to print the card. I know I can manually adjust the fields, margins and page orientation, but was wondering if I am doing something wrong and the cell fields should adjust automatically. I’ve read the post on the new recipe card format and instructions, but still can’t find a quick fix. Can you help? Thank you!!
Please disregard! I was so determined to figure it out and get the recipes printed that I think I just found the fix. I wasn’t “signed it” to Google Docs the first time I downloaded it. Now that I signed in, it looks like I can see all of the directions and nothing gets cut off.
OK Erin – I am having the same problem and I am signed into Google docs. I have never had this problem before – only shows what will fit in the box
Well, you can click on the cell and go to “formats” and choose normal. That should help. It just isn’t recognizing the text as text. I believe. Sometimes expanding the cell will help too.
Stumbled across the site today–love the Recipe Cards because I can adjust to how many people will be eating. Thank you very much for helping this single gal!!
You are most welcome!
This was our second month doing OAMM – I have a husband and toddler and both of them gobble up the things on these menus. Last month (May) we did 3 servings and it was enough to feed us for about 5 weeks, one meal per day. This month, we wanted lots of leftovers for lunches and such, so we made 4 servings.
We did something wrong, though – we ended up with a lot of extra chopped carrots and onions. A LOT. My toddler loves to eat the carrots with ranch, though – so I didn’t mind.
Well, the carrots will freeze for your next cooking day so that should help. I haven’t heard of an abundance problem so it could be our estimates of cups per each; however, if others report similar we will definitely investigate further. So glad you are loving it!
I noticed the same thing. I caught it for the carrots so adjusted before. I think I ended up with 2 extra cups chopped onions after cooking day. But I usually make a freezer meal half the time & something else about half the time, so I used up most of the extra onions over the next week or so.
By the way – I’m a first timer and can’t say enough how great this website & recipes & resources are! We’ve loved all the meals so far & I’ve loved the extra time on most nights. Will definitely be doing this again (and again). Thanks for all the time and work!
Hi! Love your site! I just noticed when I was printing out the recipe cards, for some reason the “sweet and sour meatballs”, did not change to “4″ servings like the rest of the recipes did. I changed it on the actual recipe card, and it converted the amounts on the card, but I’m wondering if my shopping and chopping lists will be off? Thanks!
Your chopping list and grocery list shouldn’t be off because those are figured separately but I will take a look at the recipe cards for sure.
There was a problem with the yellow cell on that recipe card. It is fixed now but you will have to re-download the cards. Sorry about that and thank you.
I’m not able to adjust the number of servings to update all the amounts through each card. Am I trying to adjust the wrong number?
Please review this post for possible troubleshooting. If you are still having issues, please email us. http://onceamonthmom.com/all-menus-saving-printing-google-document-grocery-lists-recipe-cards-instructions/
The Chicken Cordon Bleu Lasagna link no longer works, the blog has been locked down to invited readers only.
You can still find the recipe and how to freeze it on our “printable recipe cards” for that month. Thanks for the heads up on that one.
