Trying Some New Meat Recipes (8+months)
Print

I am going to try out some new recipes this week for Carter. Here is what I am thinking so far. After browsing the baby food isle I definitely want to try a puree with ham (maybe with pineapple, peach and apple), a chicken with sweet potato and apple (since all of these are on sale this week at Kroger), and possibly another beef dish with veggies (peas, green beans, carrots).
If you have any suggestions or have a recipe that has worked for you, I would LOVE to hear from you.
I will post a new menu by this weekend!!

Hi there, I’ve been reading for a while and finally decided to say something! I have a 10 month old son and in recent months have been moving towards making his own (since about 6-7 months) Some new recipes that he likes is Chicken with Apples (Simmer 1 cut up chicken breast with 1 peeled, cored, sliced apple, in apple juice till tender. puree. Makes about 8 servings, or so, for me) Cheesy Potato Broccoli (Peeled and quartered potato, peeled sliced carrots, boiled till tender. Add steamed broccoli. While warm, add some cheddar cheese. Mash together. He loves it!)
Awesome! Thanks I might try those this week!
My daughter is one now, but I have been feeding her mashed sweet potatoes mixed with black beans for quite some time. It’s delicious. I also recently started adding spinach to it. Cumin goes really well with this, too.
I also do ground chicken mixed with applesauce and cinnamon. She loves it!
Is the cumin not too spicy for your dd?
There wasn’t enough in here to make it spicy – just to add flavor. He liked it.
My son’s favorites right now are beef with mixed vegetables (super lean hamburger I browned with italian seasoning, then drained, then added water to and drained again to remove as much grease as possible and pureed with canned mixed vegetables since they’re already cooked to death most of the time) and chicken and pumpkin with a dash of pumpkin pie spice. SUPER easy and SUPER nutritious.
