Ultimate Blog Party!
So last night I got this email from my fellow sisterchicks telling me about this thing called the “Ultimate Blog Party“. I’m not sure what rock I have been living under that I haven’t ever heard about it. But I am all about a good party! And a VIRTUAL party? Awesome!
So welcome to Once A Month Mom, home of all things freezer cooking! No, this site isn’t about my monthly menstrual cycle, sorry to disappoint! It is about taking the daily chore of cooking and turning it into a monthly memory, saving you time and money.
Each month I create a monthly menu that can be cooked with a partner and feeds two families of four. All of the menus are based on monthly grocery sales and in-season produce, including the most recent menu, April 2010. There are so many past menus to choose from as well. Did I mention each menu comes with grocery lists, instructions, recipe cards and labels? No. It does. Did I mention this is all FREE? It is.
If you have ever considered once a month cooking (also referred to as freezer cooking, power cooking, bulk cooking and oamc) then this is the place for you! Never considered it before or are intimidated? Never fear, there are plenty of posts waiting for you as well! The best place to start is the “Navigating the OAMM Menu” post and the most recent menu!
I also have menus for making your own baby food as well. I don’t update these nearly as often but there are some great resources. I have two little ones including a 4 month old who will be eating solids before I know it. So you will likely see some more great resources coming in this department.
Other than that, I have been blogging for about a year. I love to cook and I love to organize menus. The two collide to make this website happen. I like to ramble share about my life, raising my kids and navigating marriage. And I like to give stuff away (especially kitchen stuff).

A Little MORE bloggy fun to add to the party!
To add to the party fun, I want to introduce you to some of my blogging friends! There are nine of us who each have a word hidden in their post (hint: mine is in PINK). These nine words make up a sentence. We will each link you up to the lady who has the next word in the sentence—but keep in mind that I might not have the first word in the sentence! I’m not sure my freezer is big enough, but it would be nice to keep a few meals handy for lazy nights.

What a great idea and a great concept for a blog. I’m not sure I could handle doing that as making dinner is my time to de-stress, but I would love to have some ideas like this for the nights when I can’t get in the kitchen early enough!

Hi! I’m here from the UBP! Cooking. I’m not a big fan of it-though I do it pretty well. If I’m in the mood I’ll cook up a storm and find myself left with tons of leftovers-I’ve thought of this-but haven’t given it a shot! I’m going to have to browse around and learn some more!

What a great idea! We are dairy, nut, and egg free at dinner due to a food allergy in the house. (we sometimes do cheese on the side, but not in the meal.) I bet I could adapt your ideas a touch though.

What a beautiful site! I can’t wait to look around. I grabbed your feed and Twitter, too… I made all of the food for my first baby. I loved opening the freezer and seeing all the frozen food. I’ve never done once a month cooking. Any low carb menus??
Hmm, not any particularly that are low carb. But there are a few that don’t have pasta so that might be a good place to start. I am pretty sure the March 2010 one didn’t have pasta.

I’ve often wanted to try once a month cooking. Any plans for adding things like gluten free alternatives and the like?
Several readers have done gluten free adaptions to the menu. Just type “gluten free” into my search box and you should find them!
