Are you a person that likes to see the menus visually? Perhaps you should check out the February 2013 Vegetarian Menu via Pinterest to see the yummy goodness you will be cooking up on this menu. Not sure what Pinterest is all about, check out what Once A Month Mom has to say about it.

Test Cooks

Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:

  • Nora Stephen: I am a retired accountant and a lover of good food. I enjoy gardening, pets, and charity knitting.
  • Stacey Lorenz: I’m a stay-at-home mom to 4 great kids – a 10 year old boy, 7 year old girl, and 1 1/2 year old twins. We are trying to remove all processed foods from our diet. You can read about our progress (and check out some recipes) at SimpleInTheSuburbs.com.

Thanks so much for sharing my hot and sour soup. This month’s menu looks especially awesome. I’ll have to add quite a few of these into my menu plan!

I always think in the era of computers, that meal planning like this could allow individual selection of recipes, and then the computer software would figure out the shopping list etc… I haven’t found any meal planning sites that do this. But if you ever move this direction I would be very interested. Even with the several different options, there are still too many meals my family wouldn’t eat for it to save me any trouble.

Yes you are right, that is “possible” but it most definitely has a price tag attached to it to create. As we mentioned in our original membership post, every member we gain draws us one step closer to that possibility. Here’s to hoping that we can achieve those features year’s end.

I looked at the Falafel pie recipe and I just wanted to let you know that it looks like it’s missing the last sentence of instructions on assembly. I went to the recipe source to get those. I also added the cucumber sauce in the original recipe, not sure if you meant to leave that out or not.

Hi Marta– Are you referring to the last sentence that gives serving suggestions? We generally don’t copy directions word for word– we customize them so that they are easily freezable. I left that out purposefully so that everyone could choose their toppings individually. Our menus do now include a “thaw sheet” that gives serving suggestions like that. I did not make mine with the cucumber sauce, which is why I left that out, as well. Hope that helps!
