Watermelon Yogurt Smoothie Pops

Our children are yogurt junkies. I suppose, if there’s an addiction to be had, yogurt’s not a bad one. They’re also obsessed with practically every fruit. So, when we got a beauty of a sweet baby watermelon in our CSA box recently, I knew I had to try some yogurt pops. And they are fantastic! That’s Bug, our 3-year-old, enjoying one with much gusto in the photo.

- 1.5 cups watermelon, pureed
- 0.5 cups raspberries, pureed
- 2 tablespoons honey or other natural sweetener (optional)
Directions:
Place yogurt in container. Place watermelon and raspberries in blender or food processor and puree. Mix and add honey if desired. Freeze in popsicle molds if desired.
Freezing Directions:
AFTER combining, divide among quart freezer bags and freeze. Alternate options include freezing in silicone muffin cups or popsicle molds. To serve: Remove from freezer molds and either blend to desired consistency (adding whey or milk if desired to thin) or serve as-is.

That’s actually a good idea for those who want to pre-make their smoothies the night before and just have it ready to blend in the morning.
