Did you participate in a March Once A Month Mom Cooking BIG DAY? If so, we want to hear about it. Really! If you have a blog simply write a story about it on your blog and then put the information for your post in the Mr. Linky below. It is that easy! Don’t have a blog, leave us a comment below!

Yes, I did a once a month cooking day, woohoo! Well, almost. It was a 1-1/2 week’s worth of food because that’s all I had available to make, and all I had time for, but it is a start! I am buying a chest freezer from friends who are moving in a couple weeks so I’ll have lots more room to store things while I stock up for April!
Be sure to tell us all about that freezer you are getting! Exciting!
I did the cooking on my own and had a good time! I have a couple posts about it on my blog. It is so fun to have meals ready on those busy days, or just when we want to spend more time at the park instead of going home to prepare a big meal. Thanks so much for the hard work you do to make this site so helpful to us all!
Shannan is doing our post for this month’s cooking adventure since it was her first. It went well, but I’m much more tired this month than last, perhaps it was doing it on Sunday rather than Saturday…not sure.
But man the food looks terrific – you know you got the goods when you want to eat everything (hello pizza rolls) as.you’re.making.it. Luckily, most of the stuff got to the bags and eventually the freezer.
Thanks gals – you rock as always!
Glad you enjoyed another month! Can’t wait to hear about it!
Thanks for such a great site! I enjoyed my first run at OAMC.
However, I do have questions regarding thawing the food. I put the Shepherd’s Pie in the refrigerator to thaw approximately 36 hours before I wanted to heat it. Unfortunately, it was still pretty solidly frozen after all that time, so I had to do some microwaving. Maybe you can do a post about the recommended thawing times and methods?
I wish I knew exactly what times to say in terms of thawing. Mine are usually thawed when I leave them in the refrigerator over night. If they still happen to be frozen I usually just double the baking time. It has worked for me in the past. Not sure why yours still wasn’t thawed!
Where did you put it in the fridge to thaw? If it was on the top shelf (the coldest part of the fridge) it would easily stay mostly frozen.
We had so much fun! A gal who doesn’t really like cooking, this was right up my alley. I am loving how much more time I now have in the evenings to spend with the boys and not in the kitchen!
Wow, that was a full post. I just blogged about my Big Cooking Day(s). ;)
