Welcome New OAMM Floating Writer Lisa!
A few months ago it became apparent that we were in need of someone who could be a bit of a jack of all trades. So in our recent search for writers, we found Lisa! I am so excited she has joined the OAMM team and I hope you will be too. You will be seeing here there and everywhere so here is a little bit more about her.

Hi! I’m Lisa and I am so excited to join the Once A Month Mom Team as a floater writer. I live in Iowa, where I run an in home daycare business. My husband Scott is a chemical engineer for POET Biorefinery in nearby town. Between the 2 of us we have 5 kids, ranging in age from 17 to 4. Our schedules are always varied, and hectic, toss in the 5 kids eating continually from dawn to dusk, finding ways to simplify and shorten the amount of time in the kitchen is a must.
I stumbled across OAMM about a year ago, in my quest to make our eating routines less of a hassle and more family-centered time. I had dabbled in freezer cooking for years, participating in monthly swaps with other moms, and even attending meal making classes. When I started going through all the menus and recipes on OAMM, I was blown away at the resources that were offered and was instantly hooked. It made my end of the process so simple – they provided all of the data, statistics, brain work. and everything for me..all I had to do was shop and cook!
This past summer I was honored to be a test cook for OAMM Gluten Free meals (My family is not GF, but I do custom cooking for a dear friend who is Celiac as well as her daughter). And from there led to my excitement was tweaked when OAMM was looking for writers! As of now I am Floater, filling in wherever there is a need.
In my spare time (what is that?) we are active fans of all our kids activities from cross country, football, wrestling, soccer and winter guard. My husband and I have recently taken a love for photography and are enjoying expanding our creative sides in capturing our family and friends behind the lens. My unwind time is found through instructing Pilates two nights a week. And last but not least I have a passion for cooking. I truly believe that a strong family begins at the dinner table, and though most nights I don’t have the time to prepare a 5 course meal, you will almost always find us around the table, discussing our days events, with a dish. . . straight from the freezer.

I am the gluten free friend, and Lisa has discoverd and cooked a wide variety of food for my daughter and I to enjoy. She has been a true blessing in this eating thing. I have turned many of our other friends onto her freezer selections.
