Welcome to $5 Dinner Readers!

We are guest posting today about using the gift of cooking to assist others in need. If you are visiting from $5 Dinners thanks for visiting our site! Here at Once A Month Mom we are trying our best to make daily chores into monthly memories. And we are doing that by starting in the kitchen.

Each month, on the first of the month, we post a monthly menu. The menu provides two families of four with approximately 10 breakfasts, 10 lunches, and 15 dinners for each family (or 70 meals total). There are also ways to adjust the menu to suit your own family needs if you are not a family of four. We provide you with the grocery list for shopping these menu items, sales alerts for local grocery stores throughout the month, instructions for making all of the items in one day with a partner and labels with reheating instructions for each menu item.

We shop for the grocery items throughout the month and then cook all of the items in one day at the end of the month with a partner. We then eat that month’s menu items the following month. For example, right now we are shopping the final week of our April menu, most people are finishing their shopping and completing their cooking. They will then have the April menu items to eat in May. We release a new May menu on May 1st so be sure to check back and start following along!

In addition to a family menu plan we also publish a baby food monthly menu plan. Cortney and I have infants and strive to make them wholesome homemade baby food. But we find that making it all in one afternoon saves us time and money. There are several monthly menu plans based on your child’s age and stage. We are currently working on the 8 month + menu plan.

We are happy that you visited our site and hope that you will consider subscribing by RSS feed or by email (in the upper right-hand corner).

The chicken/pasta dish sounds really good and easy to make, but does it really make 6-8 servings? Donna
