Are you a person that likes to see the menus visually? Perhaps you should check out the November 2012 Whole Foods Menu via Pinterest to see the yummy goodness you will be cooking up on this menu. Not sure what Pinterest is all about, check out what Once A Month Mom has to say about it.

Test Cooks

Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:

  • Meredith Koplinka: I am a stay at home mom to twin toddlers–a girl and a boy–who keep me on the go! Cooking meals with the twins scrambling at my feet can be a challenge, to say the very least. I really appreciate having a freezer full of healthy, homemade meals ready to go. As a family, we enjoy traveling, exploring local attractions, farming at our CSA, and taking long walks together.
  • Christine Gannon: She is a part-time nursing student who enjoys spending time with her husband and three cats when she is not in class or at work. While cooking once a month can be a daunting task, she finds it to be considerably easier than trying to get her cats to behave.

Get Started

Are you new to Once A Month Mom or once a month cooking (oamc) in general? If so, you might want to spend a few minutes (or hours) on the Get Started Series. If you are in a real hurry to catch on we have written some simple steps for getting started. Welcome!

This looks great. I tried to download the labels, and instead of being a PDF file, it was a zip folder filled with subfolders and other files that my computer couldn’t read. How do i get a printable file?

That is very odd. They are working for me. Can you let me know what browser you are using when this happens? You also might try using a different browser to see if they download for you that way. I was using Chrome and got it to work.

Hello OAMM – I just joined your site this month and completed my first challenge – this whole foods menu. I am telling everyone how excited I am about the ideas, recipes, organization, and resources available on this site – I know that this approach will really work for me. I found all of the recipes very easy to put together (not too many recipes within recipes) and I like the combination of slow cooker, raw and baked meals. I have two suggestions after my first experience. The first is that I found that some of these recipes neglected to indicate that the pans should be sprayed before baking and I didn’t have any major problems but it definitely would have helped. Second, is that I didn’t see suggested times for each recipe, is that stated somewhere? I guess it depends how much prep is already done, but I think that would be helpful. Overall – this is an awesome resource for any busy family. Thank you!

The lables for the Stuffed Chicken are wrong. They don’t have the initial bake time after thawing, just the time that you bake after removing the foil. Everything else has been GREAT! Thanks so much for making my life easier.

Sorry. The labels are now fixed – should be 30 minutes covered. You can also find serving instructions on the recipe cards if you need them.

I am having a heck of a time printing the recipes this time. I have to adjust the rows and page layouts…still wants to use 45 pieces of paper. I did not have this problem the first time. I am going to start over and try again…
